I think we're in this until the end. Contrary to what many of the LSU fans think, Jefferson is still very much unproven.

This will be a big game for him. Prime time game, road opener, national TV - and all the pressure in the world. During the LSU bowl game, many, by that point, had written LSU off completely. However, now, with most in the media "expecting" LSU to come out and blow us away, all the pressure will be on LSU, and particularly, Jefferson.

I believe the LSU defense will have difficulty containing Jake, but the more I think about it, the more I think that LSU's fate in this game could be based on how well Jefferson plays.

So, if LSU plays like crap then UW has a chance. Thanks for that.

All Jefferson will need to do is manage the game and get the ball in the playmaker's hands. The talent around him should suffice.

LSU has so much talent on offense. They will put up 40+. Washington can't score that on LSU.

No, I won’t be nervous,” Jefferson said, “because you shouldn’t be nervous if you know what you’re doing. So that’s why I’m not even worried about being nervous. I’ll be so focused on getting a play and reading the defense, I won’t have time to be nervous.

Really?

Because your receivers and running backs seem relatively unproven.

So, unless Jake can throw THEN catch the ball, then it shouldn't be all that difficult to 'contain' Jake.

First off, this game is not prime time. It's 10:30 EST and 9:30 in Baton Rouge. There will be many people passed out from a long day of drinking by the time the 2nd half starts.

Not to sound like a complete homer, but i imagine Washington to have a hard time doing anything against our D. Jake Locker is a beast, no doubt, but he just doesn't have the surrounding cast to pull off impressive numbers. On the flip side, Jefferson has a very good WR, very good TE, good-to-very-good OL and a number of stallions at RB.

LSU will literally score at will in this game. However I expect Washington's offense to have some success as well. But not nearly enough to matter.

I think your offensive and defensive lines are extremely weak. I think we can win this game by running right at you.

agreed...if I was a betting man, I wouldn't touch this game, especially with such a high point spread for an unproven road team with a new DC and relatively inexperienced QB.

I can see you thinking that and who knows, you may even be right.

The way I see iot, Washington has NO idea what they are about to experience. They havent seen speed like what is about to be unleased on them by the defense.

Ask Ohio State, Okla, etc.

I'm not so arrogant to think that UW won't give LSU a good game, but if you exclude the QB position, LSU is absolutely stacked with experienced, top-notch talent.

If this game is in question after the half, I think LSU pulls away in the 3rd and 4th quarter just based on depth alone. Locker is a stud, no doubt, but his playmaking options will be severely limited if his O-Line is out of steam.

Best of Luck to both teams!
