A small group is buying the right to use the name HI HO BBQ and will buy the sauce, meat, and buns from the Hammond location. They are being trained in Hammond right now and will open up in a month or so on Hwy 16 (Northern Hwy 16). I can't wait.

With that said, I hope these guys don't screw up a 60+ years tradition.

In case you have never been. I have been eating Hi Ho BBQ since I was a toddler.

I saw Voodoo was coming to Denham as well. Looks like BBQ is going to be making an influx.

I am not that excited about Voodoo. I find it to be better than Podnuh's but not as good as Sonny's, which isn't the best.

Where exactly is it going to be on N. 16? I'll have to check out that area ( I go to Denham about once every other month or so to visit family).

About a mile before you get there, headed out of Denham.

I saw the sign today as well.

It seems unreal to see another sign for Hi Ho anywhere outside of Tangipahoa Parish...I can't wait.

What do you recommend for me to get, as I am going before the Southeastern game next Thursday at 7pm. Leaving straight from work at 5:30, so will be in Hammond around 6pm.

Uncle Shorty later took a Holsum deliveryman to task for supposedly punching pencil holes in the Sunbeam wrappers. Mr. Holsum figured that a couple loaves of stale Sunbeam equals a couple of new customers for Holsum. Uncle Shorty caught his competitor in the parking lot and sent him sprawling with a left jab and a quick uppercut. It was dog-eat-dog in the bread delivery world-But I digress...)

This part of that story is completely bullshite!! My Dad started working for Holsum in 1970 and Hi-Ho was one of his stops. I showed him this story and he this never happened.

Had Hi-Ho for the fist time a couple months ago...Did not like it..very dry meat.

This place had been hyped up to me for a few years. I will not be going back. Only thing I liked was the price.

did you get sauce and cheese?

it's def not great meat as a stand alone. What makes it great is the combo on a soft white bun.

Did not know cheese was an option...maybe I'll give it one more chance next time I am in Hammond.
