I need to come watch a game with the boys.Except, I don't know if they will understand when Uncle "Ninga naw" crys at the sound of those first four notes

Got plenty of Kleenex, come on over. Got a 50yd line ticket with your name on it.

Wumpy's Aunt Lisa brought some Mardi Gras beads and junk. He picked up a plastic trumpet that had a Kazoo in it. He came over to me and "played" Pregame. He's already seen the

He may be the only Tiger to play MLB and perform with the band at half time.

Great post. Here's to everyone that gets misty when the band warms up - either in person or on the TV.

I can only hope either or both of my TX-born grandsons grows to love the Tigahs even half as much as you obviously do.

Well done, young man.

Hey crowd - not too deep for me. I understand this emotional attachment to our Fighting Tigers. Absolutely great post Grandson. If you are not already in a career of journalism you should strongly consider it. You have a way with words.

Keep up the good work posting your heartfelt feelings Grandson. Enjoy the LSU experience - the extent is limitless.

The first 4 notes of Pregame still get to me also - I recommend to all to experience them as the GBFTL comes down the hill, stops, and then plays Pregame before entering Tiger Stadium. I usually have a habit of e-mailing Pregame to my brother at work at this time of year before the first LSU game. On Sept. 5, in preparation for our 7:30 pm (local Washington time) game with Washington, I will ceremoniously lay out my LSU flags, large 5' x 4' LSU knitwork, hats, etc. all around my living room, imbibe several beverages, and anticipate how "badly" we will beat Washington.

Tigers, let's go undefeated this year while we beat Texas again (this time in BCS NC for the crystal) !!!!

it's the overwhelming feelings of emotion that causes the grandson to shed a tear at the first game of every football season the moment the Golden Band from Tiger Land commences its performance of the legendary "Pregame" song minutes before kickoff. It's what motivates the grandson to offer additional “thanks” and “praise” to the Lord during his morning prayers on every occurrence he is blessed with the gift of awaking to an LSU game day

Man............anybody that doesn't get that feeling will never understand. Well done Sir!!!!!!!
