Was wondering how many NFL players have gone their entire career without injury..then I was wondering if there were any former LSU players to earn this distinction? Seems like this would be more rare than pitching a no-hitter in MLB.

Well, technically a whole bunch of them have, since lots of guys make a roster, never play, and are cut during or after one season and never make it back. But if you're talking about people with actual careers of playing for several years, I would imagine it is pretty rare not to suffer any injury. But I'll bet there's a few who never missed any game time due to injury.

All football players suffer injuries. Are you asking if any former LSU player never missed a game because of an injury?

Jimmy Taylor didn't miss very much football as a pro. Probably the healthiest of the old school LSU players, he played in 132 games for the Packers and Saints. Cannon famously injured his back and ultimately switched to TE as a pro (albeit in the AFL). Taylor and Cannon were, for the day, world class conditioned athletes.

The correct answer is .....

Andrew Whitworth. Started every game of his LSU career. Never even missed a practice while at LSU. Hold the all-time starts record with I think 52. It could be broken this year by Ciron Black.

I misread the post. Now I see you are looking for LSU players not missing time in the NFL. I have no idea, but Faneca hasn't missed any real time in his career.

I don't remember Bradie James ever missing any time. Maybe Stephen Peterman and D. Bowe. Kyle Williams? Eric Alexander? Jarvis Green? Travis Daniels? Chevis Jackson?

Hard to tell about some of the older players, but here's a few.

Mel Branch. Played in 126 games between 1960 and 1968, missing none.

Wendell Harris. Played in 83 games between 1962 and 1967, missing one game in 1966.

Johnny Robinson. Played in 164 games between 1960 and 1971, missing only 4 games in 1964.

Jimmy Taylor. Played in 132 games between 1958 and 1967, not playing in week 4 of 1964 and not playing in week 2 of 1965.

This doesn't mean Bret Favre wasn't ever hurt. It just means he's selfish and cares more about his record than hurting his teams chances to make a playoff run. Just ask the Jets.

Mawae and Fanaca have had long careers and don't ever remember them missing much time.

Fanaca missed one game in 99 and one game in 01.

Mawae missed 10 games in 05, 2 in 07 and 1 in 08.
