I had a liberating thought this morning. I guess reading the rant and the sec rant can make a person lose his faith but here it is:

What if LSU really fixed all their problems? What if our quarterback can really execute well this year? What if our defense is back to 2007 levels with an experienced coaching staff?

What if (gasp) 2008 really was an aberration?

What if Ole Miss and Alabama were the extreme beneficiaries of LSU slipping up?

If this team plays as though 2008 never happened, and they are building off of 2007, this could be an exciting year!

I'll tell you what that means:
We'll handle Georgia. It won't be a blowout, but you won't ever really get the feeling that Georgia is gonna win.
We'll battle Florida. It will be a close game, but we'll probably pull it out in the end.
We'll destroy Alabama and Ole Miss.

It's gonna be a good year.

I agree with you. At the same time with the schedule we have and the inexperienced QB play i would be elated with 9-3. If we beat florida, then theres no limit to what our season could be. BUT, losing that game to UF won't make or break us like it seemed to last year.

If, and it's a big IF as of right now, we fixed ALL of our problems the rest of the SEC better be paying attention.

I think you're pretty close. The defense will be better and JJ will play well.

2009--9-3 or 10-2.....good bowl game = happy

2010--JJ a junior, this great freshman class all sophomores = NC.

We won't "destroy" any of the higher ranked SEC teams, we might win a close one, however.

I think this would be the biggest key to a 10-2-or-better season. But realistically, I expect our QBs to have two or three games along these lines: 11-for-25, 150 yds./2 INTs. It's called the learning curve, and our QBs won't be immune to it. 2009 should be fun, and a good season if you can live with a 9-3 record. 2010—now that should be a Fun season. It'll all be good I trust.

does this include poor game-planning since 2005?

if so, possible NC#3 this decade.....

(of course, a little luck is needed also, even if you're a great team)

I think '08 was an aberration. JL couldn't have thrown that many pick-6's had he been trying to. And never have I seem so much confusion, poor tackling, etc on D. If Chavis, et al can just correct any one of those we'll be much improved on D.

I think UF and OM will be tough. But I think we'll beat snot out of Bama.
