Sick of this aqrguement. Possibly Scott, but prove in some way, how Williams is a better collegiate RB than Hester. Show emperical data, stats that back up this statement. To this point in their careers, Hester has provento be more effective.

Just for the record. Jarrett Lee ran for more yards in high school than Andrew Hatch and Jordan Jefferson. I looked this up last year when a similar thread came up.

I know this doesn't mean it'll translate into him being a rushing threat in the SEC. But, just a reminder that just because he was scared to run last year, doesn't mean that he doesn't have the ability to.

and that makes you an idiot. JR is very mobile for a QB his size. A barge wouldn't be able to run for 50 yards in any SEC game at all. Of course, I don't expect you to understand this. But, JR didn't show his mobility because he didn't have to. He was best putting the ball in the air. But, when he had to avoid a pass rush, he might have been our best QB of doing so (and still having the ability to throw the ball down field) that LSU has seen in a long time.

JR used his mobility to make many defensive players look plain stupid in just about every game he played. But, he didn't get scared of a lil' pass rush and take off running like Matt Flynn. So, I guess that makes him immobile and a barge.

well... hester WAS more of a coach on the field.

and his motor never stopped running, either.

JL played in a "spread offense".

JJ played in a "pro-style" offense at destrehan.

can't really compare the two.

yeah, comparing jarmarcus to lee is pretty bad.

jamarcus, when he got going, was a LOAD to take down, and was actually pretty fast for his size.

lee? not so much

my point wasn't saying he's a better runner. Rather, I am simply saying that he has the ability to run.

After JJ got hurt his junior year, he definitely ran more of a pro offense than he did as a junior. So, JJ did run a good bit as a QB in high school. Lee just ran more often and for more yards.

I remember when I played HS ball and all the "old guys" would stand on the hill when we were a week into practice. I would think, what are they watching and talking about... we are five days into practice. Now see a glimpse.

Fun conversation, but right now they are just running drills. We will see what happens in the next couple weeks once pads are on.

Pro-style in that sense means he was a pocket passer.

Watch his videos on scout. He's in shotgun ALL the time with 4+ WR.

"Spread" doesn't necessarily mean the QB runs.

ETA:
Jarrett Lee, pro-style QB
Jordan Jeferson, pro-style QB

not really, Williams started over Hester, who was a junior at the time, as a true freshman. Williams will now be a senior (the year when Hester played HB well.

So at this point in their careers, Williams was a more effective running back than hester

Dont coaches usually play to their players strength? I think many are going to be disappointed with the "dual-threat" label they have created. JJ's a pro-style quarterback, who has shown a tendency to fumble and take sacks. As someone else said, if the slow JL is already looking better at the option, there will be no dual threat this year.

Is jefferson a threat to run the ball? Yes bc he's fast and athletic.
Is Jefferson a threat to throw the ball? Yes obviously that is his primary skill set.
Therefore he is dual-threat.
Is Lee a threat to run the ball? Not at all.
Is Lee a threat to throw the ball? Maybe more of a threat to LSU than our opponent
