For the first time in a few years, it doesn't seem like Alabama and LSU are really going head to head over anyone of significance. Or, am I missing someone? Saban seems to have left Louisiana alone for the most part and we are staying out of Alabama (except for Sam Gibson who Bama thinks is just horribe and he wouldn't make their team ).

Have Saban and Miles decided to go their separate ways in recruiting? Or, is there a big battle brewing that I don't know about?

It seems that if we are head to head with anyone right now, it is Auburn over Seastrunk and Reed, and we have never really fought Auburn for recruits.

Thoughts?

Jordan Allen was looking at Bama..other than that and Sam Gibson I can't really think of anything right now.

It's a weak year in both Bama and Louisiana so that might have something to do with it.

The drama is definitely down on the "Anywhere but Bama" front for our recruiting.

Guess Saban just recognized he couldn't hang with Miles and gave up.

Actually for 98% of LA talent I agree. Saban cant hang with LSU. These kids grow up dreaming of playing for LSu and same in Bama except for Au. All LSU has to do is keep a respectable record and avoid the 90's.

I really can't think of anyone LSU will be battling hard with for Bama anymore. Maybe Damien Robinson, but he's not a big priority for LSU anymore after Washington's commitment.

The biggest recruiting battle btw LSU-Bama this year will be with Andre Stringer in basketball.

2011 will be a big year for LA talent and believe it that Saban will be ALL OVER recruiting those kids.

Not sure who. Saban seemingly doesn't have the same cache in Louisiana as he did a few years ago. He wasn't all over Jordan Allen like he was the Monroe kids in the previous years. He probably gets the message now.

LSU beat us for Maclin, who we really wanted. Otherwise, I can't think of anyone we both really wanted.

Most of the guys seem to like LSU though, and it seems like Miles is starting to go after some of the prime guys early.

Seeing as LSU still has not lost a prime target to Bama, I am not expecting things to change in 2011.

Yeah, I don't see why 2011 would be any different. I'm not sure who in that group Saban is going to be a factor with.

We may have shut down LA for Saban as far as recruits LSU really wants. We only wanted Sentimore late in the process because of grades, we never really went after him hard and only very late in the proscess gave him an offer after it looked like he might qualify. So I agree, LA is shut to Saban as far as the kids LSU wants and starts recruiting early in the process.

However, I have to give the Devil, (Saban/Satan) his due. Before Saban became the HC at Alabama, LSU owned the city of Mobile, AL as far as recruiting all the way back to when Saban was coaching @ LSU and continued through Miles until Saban became Bama's HC. Now Mobile is virtually shut down to LSU. At least that's the way I see it.

The I-10 corridor is broken at the Alabama line as far as I can see regarding LSU recruiting, and picks back up in FL and GA.

Well, "looking at" in a loose sense, like Keke Mingo was. Looked like he was going to take an official there even though everybody knew he was coming to LSU in the end.

KeKe was pretty serious about Bama and really enjoyed his official.

Jordan didn't even read the letters Saban sent. He had only one school in mind...

HA! Looking at this board over the last few...you would think the barn & the viles were trying getting all of the LA kids, not the Gumps...actually the gumps have been pretty quite while they rack up another top 5 class while the barn & viles are making all the noise. I guess to make up for the fact that they both hired 2 losers for coaches

We both have offered James Wright and he is leaning to Bama right now, but are we or the gumps actually recruiting him very hard right now?
