Interesting to look up some other schools.
The particular site for LSU is

They think the tigers will finish ranked about 25th.
The three losses were to UGA, UF, and alabama.
Interestingly enough, they predict Temple will finish ranked 22nd!

Geaux Owls!
Over a 15 year run, they guess pretty well.
And here is their historical rankings, over the entire 15 years...

The computer is dead wrong.
Sitting here at the computer on July 19, 2009 I can unequivocally tell you that LSU is going 14-0 and winning the MNC.
Note: This statement is subject to future modification if necessary.

That goes with all my prognostications. It is assumed. And yes, I do understand what that means.
If you read my prognostications, it does make an a$$ out of you and me!

wow, that site predicted us to go 12-0 last year ...

Since when did 9-3 for an SEC team result in being ranked 25th in the nation?

Yeah, I was looking at those rankings and pretty much every team ranked #10 to #20 is projected like 10-2.... seems strange. If you have to go all the way down to #13 to find your first two-loss team, then the BCS is in for some chaos in 2009.

Alabama's strength of schedule is #71 and Old Miss is #76...what a joke!

Neither Florida or Bama will go undefeated. That computer apparently didn't realize that the SEC is a snake pit.

Troy higher than LSU.. I mean I know about last season but damn

The computer is going to be wrong, but as far as trends go, I think it does a pretty good job.
I think the rankings are pretty screwy, but I think a 9-3 prediction is a decent one. Chances are we will end up somewhere around there.

I agree that's pretty ridiculous, but I actually wouldn't mind Michigan State becoming a national power again (or at least having a really really good season in 2009).
Anything that puts the heat on RichRod at UM would make me happy. For some reason, I just can't stand him.

what do they base their ratings on?
It's not like they can base it on outcomes of games that have taken place?
Im confused.

Yep. I'm predicting 9-3/5-3, but that still should get us somewhere in the top 20, maybe top 15. I also think 5-3 in the SEC West could be good enough to win the division title and go on to Atlanta, like we did in 2001.

The computer has the SEC's combined conference record at 49-47. Doesn't make any sense.
