Walnut, CA-First Team All-American, team leader and Mt. SAC Quarterback Nick Lamaison (6'1-200) has signed a letter of intent and has received a full-scholarship to play this season for the Volunteers.

While Lamaison has long been in the Vols’ plans, he has declined to admit he has signed with UT for the past month.
When reached by the News Sentinel on Thursday, the 6-foot-1, 200-pounder had no comment.

quote:

There’s reason for UT to want to keep Lamaison’s signing quiet. The Vols are still in the hunt for a more high-profile quarterback for the 2010 class, Jesse Scroggins of Lakewood (Calif.) High School. Lamaison would be available to play this fall and could enroll in class in August.

Does anyone really think they can blame Scroggins not signing with them on a junior college qb that no other D1 school is recruiting.

Sounds like a whole bunch of Kiffin bs!

The culture at UT must be currupt..who wrote this article?

Who does this? "Keep his signature silent", to try to hoodwink other players

That's what I was thinking. Kind of a crappy way to treat HS kids if true. It's one thing to pitch kids on things in order to get them to sign, but that kind of deception is just dirty IMO.

For a message board that constantly accuses CLK of " going to get UT on probation" and "running his mouth" to much, why is everybody SO WORRIED ABOUT what is going on in Knoxville?..Better enjoy this year, is all I got to say. He has a staff that CAN RECRUIT. Pulled in a top ten class in 4 months. And some of those guys can coach. It's just a matter of time before it all comes together. He won't have a bad season this year. Mark it down.

They are off to a pretty mediocre start this year. And the negative publicity from the incidents surrounding Nu'Keese, Janzen, Hood, and Alshon Jeffrey will hopefully hurt Kiffin in the long run, but we will have to wait and see about that.

eh, just about every time we have a down year we come back the next year with basically the same players and do fine. Our other bowl-missing season this decade was caused by 90% of the teams good players getting injured, and maybe bad coaching last year... we'll be fine

I don't really care what QB is throwing the ball if you don't have anybody to catch it.

I'm going to laugh when you lose to UCLA in week 2.

Hopefully the recruits that read this board and their families. The high school coaches who really care about the kids also need to question what is going on there.

Kids need to know that Kiffin and his staff should not be trusted.

Too much fishy stuff is going on in Knoxville right now.

If this kid signed with them he should be having his moment in the sun. No one, especially Kiffin, should be telling him to keep his trap shut.

The Johnson kid from New Orleans needs to know what he is getting himself into with these people.

He has committed to the Vols, but there are questions about whether he will actually enroll at Tennessee. Qualifying issues. He will either show up for fall classes or he wont. In other words, if he gets accepted then he will be a Vol.
