A friend of mine is a big Texas fan. He has seen UT play OU and told me that the Vtech game last year vs Maryland in Blacksburg was the best game he has ever been to(never been to tigah stadium). Your list is good, I think Nebraska would be a must see even today without the state having a pro team.

I've been to Texas A&M and Texas. Texas A&M is definitely worth the trip. It is not your typical college/SEC atmosphere, but it is unique. I really enjoyed it. Texas...yawn. It was very quiet. A lot of people sat on their hands, tailgating was very weak, etc. The town of Austin is great though.

EXACTLY!!!

Been to Neyland Stadium in Tenn. Actually it was worth it. Was on our honeymoon and my wife's relatives who live there gave us tickets to the LSU - Tenn. ( that was in 2006 ) So it was a worthwhile trip. Beating them with 9 sec. left. But the people we were around were very nice. We had good neighbored ribbing back and fourth the whole game. Luckily we got the last rib. But it is a beautiful place and a stadium worth going to.

want to go and see them when they play "jump around."

want to see a relevant UM FSU game at Doak

would like to see a Red River Shootout at the Cotton Bowl and you get the Texas State Fair.

only problem I have with Neyland is that all you hear throughout the stadium is "Rocky Top." they seriously play nothing else.

I just moved to Indianapolis which has a lot of cool college towns near it. I think my first stop is going to be South Bend. Then maybe over to see Ohio State play.

You have to see an ARMY/NAVY game at either Annapolis. But i think they started playing the rivalry game in Baltimore Stadium.

I have to been to some of the big ones.
Coliseum in LA - overrated - we did not have great seats, but you still felt a freaking mile from the field.

Neyland - amazing - LSU victory

Big House - nice, but a little overrated also

Rose Bowl - UCLA over Okl a few years ago. great place, but a little weird, they had a guy standing on a ladder for the entire game yelling into a megaphone to get the fans ramped up.

Georgia was great also - nice tailgating atmosphere.

I like Michigan State - smaller, only 65,000 at the time, but a good atmosphere.

My places to hit in the next few years are Happy Valley, the Horseshoe and Notre Dame.

I have been all over the counrty and nothing compares to Baton Rouge on a Saturday night. It is the single biggest reason I fell in love with College Football

Would love to experience a night game @ Tiger Stadium one time. I'm an AU fan, but watching LSU run onto the field against a worthy opponent is goose pump chillen! I LOVE college football, and that sight is right up there with the Eagle flying around Jordan-Hare!!

Kyle field is the suck. Entire campus is cement and the heat radiating off that field is unbearable. Whoever said it is like a cult was right, those dudes are strange.

Ole Miss is not bad for a smaller venue but the fans totally ruin it. I know we get a bad wrap but those are the nastiest low class fans on the planet. They don't screw with the guys but they really have a passion for calling women fans of the visiting team sluts and whores. Jackasses all around.

I really like the Georgia Dome as far as Domes go.

Besides Tiger Stadium my favorite venue that I have been to is South Carolina. Passionate fans even if the team sucks and the majority of them are really nice people. The entrance of the team to 2010 a Space Odysey is a cool sight.

-Skip the Coliseum...Everything about it is crap....If you want to see USC, go see them and UCLA at the Rose Bowl....Better yet go see USC-CAL at Cal....Much smaller venue, but one of the few times you can see a college game out here and forget for 3 hours that you are in California.

-Been to Neyland....Great, loved it....A must attend.
-Been to the Horseshoe..Disapointed...Larger crowd but not close to being as loud as Tiger Stadium. Plus Columbus is a pit.
-Went to Happy Valley 2 years ago....Definite must attend...Loud, rocking and as close as you can get to the SEC above the Mason-Dixon line.
-How about Sanford Stadium (Georgia).....Thought it was a great venue...Found Georgia fans to be some of the nicest, most knowledgable and hospitable fans I have ever met.

-TIGER STADIUM.....Still head and shoulders above the rest....

What game did you go to? Pretty sure if I went to this past year's LSU-Troy game, I'd get a pretty bad impression of the rowdiness of Tiger fans. It's not going to get that loud for a bad OOC game or low Big 10 team (i.e. Indiana, Minny, etc). My head was ringing from all the noise every play from the Michigan game this past year (even when we were up 42-7) and they sucked.

From Sporting News:

quote:

-What Vince Young said: When asked "How loud was the Rose Bowl game and how tough was it to play there" he responded with, "It wasn't that bad. Ohio State, man, Ohio State was the loudest place I've ever played. The Rose Bowl is wider and more open, but Ohio State is more closed in and everyone is so loud and on top of you. You could hear all the little things people said about you. Man, that was the toughest place I've ever played."

quote:

Columbus is a pit.

You'd better hurry. They're moving the game to the new Cowboys stadium (maybe next year?). I have been to this game many times and to games at OU and Texas. I agree with everyone above, except for the OU game, Texas games are less exciting than a golf tournament no matter who they're playing. Total country club scene IMO. I don't remember OU being as calm as everyone said above, but each time I was there, it was a conference game against a top 25 opponent. IMO, the SEC venues are much more exciting.
