define people skills. if that means talking the best players into attending your university and playing for your team, people skills are important. if its smiling at the camera and making a cute statement, maybe a houston nutt, i could care less about people skills.

Saban, Maineri, Miles all have this skill.

How you represent your university is very important. In the media age, that has an effect on recruiting. Look at how people like the fig coach of USC and Miles (Maineri especially), but as good as coach as Saban was, I didn't like him and couldn't bare to listen to him

It is how you represent

Saban and Miles are 2 sides of a coin on this one. while most will tell you Saban is hands down the best recruiter in college football, they are others that will tell you he stinks at being a players coach. Miles is just the opposite, ok recriuter has gotten stronger lately, but is a great players coach.

miles is better than an ok recruiter and a players coach means they want to be friends with the players. an example is the hug miles gave alem after kicking the football following a 3rd down stop and getting an unsportsmanlike call vs. arkansas last year.

28. John Brady

Embarrassed to post this but it's true. I think Miles is terrible at adjusting during the game (though good at most everything else) and that Smoke would have been awesome at any other time other than following a legend.

he has improved since has gotten in the seat of a powerhouse program, but before this Miles was just an ok recriuter. and Miles is for his players that's what I said, but Saban prefers a management approach, he is letting players know it is all business, kinda preparing them for the pros really.

Disagree. Johnson is a players coach. Always backs the player, doesn't express his anger at them.

I would take miles being to friendly than Saban being a complete dick. This effects team morale and confidence and is huge in big games. Players hated Brady and Saban, but love Miles and Johnson. All four coaches (assuming Johnson this year isn't a fluke) have had success.

I'd rather win with happy players and a good image

Since you gave me a shout out in the other thread, I thought I'd give you one in this thread by asking the question I posed and was seeing if you'd come clean about your claim that Pelini's numbers were skewed or whatever because of the FCS teams we played. Or are you still under the impression we played a bunch of FCS teams while he was here?
