anyone here use Bisk? I just ordered it with my firm's discount, but i can still cancel and go the Becker route.
Any advice? I know people who have passed with both.

I've been using Becker, taking FAR next Thursday. Never heard of Bisk though, so no idea there.
ETA: Good luck either way though.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

Nope this is the first one. Taking REG in late August, AUD and BEC in October/November.

I used Becker exclusively...started in the classroom, eventually got on the self-study materials, and bought the flashcards. As far as I'm concerned, Becker is the only way to fly for the CPA exam. Good luck and have fun!!!

If you used it exclusively, how can you be so confident telling people it is the only way to go (i.e. what experience do you have with the other).

My point was that Becker is a good system...I did not opine on any other system. Don't be a fricking prick!

anybody who has passed have any TIPS or strategy? what order did you take the parts in and how long did you study for each one?

Get the Bisk textbooks as a supplement to the Becker lectures. Each contains hundreds of old exam questions, which is what I found to be the key to passing - working through as many test questions as possible (including sample simluations).

WORD...that is the best advice IMO, all of the advice on here has been good but questions and then more questions seems to be the key to success for me.

I take Financial this Monday(20th). Are you doing Becker SS or In-Class?

SS. I read the chapter, watched the lecture, then did the questions (except the supplementals) once. I started my final review by going back through the highlighted stuff and answering all the questions and supp questions until I got all of them right, which typically took another two tries. I was supposed to take it tomorrow, but I had to push it back, because I got sick about a week ago, so today is the first day I've studied since last Thursday. It's really hard to get geared up again. I'm hoping to be done all the questions by Sunday, focus on simulations on Monday and Tuesday, do the Final Review tests on Wed and Thurs, and finally get this bitch out of the way on Friday.

Sounds like you're gonna dominate...

I would be lying if I thought I wasn't well prepared at this point. I would also be lying if I said I wasn't apprehensive as well though.
I just wish I had not gotten sick and had some other normal life shite mess up my schedule, I was planning on taking it before fricking July 4th.

I am so out of the loop on this, but you guys can now take it part by part? I would have loved that. When I took it in 1996, we had to sit for the whole thing at the same time in the superdome. Got lucky and killed it on the first try though.
Posted on 7/20/09 at 12:45 pm to Weasel74
Haha in the Super Dome that's AWESOME...we have to take the test in a Prometric testing facility cubicle. Don't get me wrong the carpet on the side of the cubicles is wicked cool.
4 sections, take em in any order and as many times as you want. Credit for passing a section only lasts 18 months so there is a time constraint.
taking FAR in 3 hours!!!![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconviolin.gif)

irrelevant for anyone...and this is all theoretical
a companies "severance" treatment/journal entries...*WHAM*
Bond/Leases are not that exciting...bright side...gov't/not-prof aren't to exciting either.
journal entries for installment/GP sales are cool. Consolidation JE's are ALWAYS cool.

Whenever I look at the simulations I freak out. I'm going to get destroyed on those.
