Sounds good. We aren't going to be around campus on gameday until we head to the boat area so who knows...I'll keep following the thread.

ivars does seem like a short ride. we have family that are ou fans and they said they took the boat from chinooks and they had a blast. they had a bar on board which is a huge selling point to me and its a better and more scenic ride

The ivars boat has a couple bars on board the boat as well, according to the people I spoke with at Ivars. Actually, from what I understand, Argosy cruises are the boats that both Ivars and Chinooks use, so both boat rides are probably about the same with the only difference being the distance traveled to Husky Stadium. Like has been mentioned, the Chinooks boat ride is a tad longer than the Ivars as Ivars is closer to campus.

I'm leaning towards Ivars as it's gonna give our group more flexibility on GameDay as we'll be on campus most of the day anyway and Ivars is walking distance.

eta: I think you can drink on the boat for as long as you want after it docks at the stadium before the game (as the boat isn't going anywhere) and you can also go out at halftime and buy a drink on the boat as well.

The Ram seems like a good place to go on GameDay ... it's right next to campus....

will give our group a lot of flexibility on GameDay ... head to the The Ram and eat and have some beers and watch the other games on TV, walk around campus a little while, then late in the afternoon go over to Ivars and catch the boat

Final GameDay Plans... I think... after taking in all of the advice from the Washington fans on their board... Although our "plans" seem to be changing daily as I get more and more advice from the UW guys, right now here's what our GameDay looks like... please feel free to comment and add suggestions or whatever ...

1. Breakfast at the W Hotel downtown or somewhere close to the hotel(where we're staying)

2. Take a couple cabs over to The Ram at University Village (eat some lunch, watch the other games on TV, hang out and drink for a while).

3. Walk around campus, down to the stadium, etc, etc.

4. Start heading over to Ivars around 4pm. If we're good on time, maybe swing up "The Ave" since it seems kind of on the way from the stadium to Ivars.

5. Get to Ivars around 5pm or a little before ... eat their buffet which is included in our $40 boatride ticket.

6. Get on the boat at Ivars around 6pm or whenever they start loading it up and head over to Husky Stadium!

My map with desinations marked... Google Maps ... A is the Ram, B is Husky Stadium, C is "The Ave", D is Northlake Tavern Pizzeria, E is Ivar's.

University of Washington campus map for comparison... UW campus map

Got an email from the Ivar's guys ... here's what he had to say

quote:

Jeff,

The boat leaves the Salmon House at 6:30. It takes 20-25 minutes to get to stadium and dock. It returns back to the Salmon House 30 minutes after the final gun.

Their are 2 bars on the boat. Yes, they're always open.

Yes, we have TV's. Are all 23 of you going to arrive early for drinks and the Bama-Virginia Tech game on ESPN? We do not reserve tables in the bar...First come bases...

Yes, we have several LSU reservations. I'm working from home and don't have an exact number for you. Our husky fans and very good sports even when we take a beating...Last your we had about 150 fans from Oklahoma and we all had a good time.

I have a friend here who called me yesterday and asked me if I wanted to join his boat crew. He has 25 people and needs 15 more... I told him I'm down but I don't know if I can find 15 people... It is going to be $125 a person for all day and then again after the game. We also go a package of 40 tickets.

I'll talk to him more about it and if he'll allow people neither of us know to come then I'll relay the message... It'll be a bunch of military individuals, family, and friends... Good group...

I'm so pumped for this game it's retarded... I've been waiting 5 years for LSU to come around this neck of the woods.

I have a small group that could use some of this space. Let me know if you still have some spots left.

I could use up some of that boat space if anyone is thinking of backing out of the sold out boats.

I emailed Ivar's yesterday and they reponded back saying they were SOLD OUT for the LSU game.
So I called Chinook's and they said they would start selling tickets Aug. 1st for their boat at around $25 a person,
which includes free parking and a free drink at the restaurant bar.
They said they would have 2 open cash bars on the boat.

Washington Tailgate Boats & Restaurant Boats Info Thread..
Here is a map of everything's location relative to one another...

A is Chinooks (one of the restaurant boat places)
B Is W Hotel Downtown (close to all the other downtown hotels)
C is Ivars (another one of the restaurant boat places)
D is Husky Stadium

Great post man. Everything I was looking for and then some.
E is The Ram (bar/restaurant close to campus that is good on GameDays to drink and watch all the other games on TV)

I could use two spots on a boat that has availability. Ivar's and LSUAA are both sold out.

Does anybody know if the chinooks boat charges ahead of time or is it a pay when you get to the bar type of deal?

Hmm, not sure. I'd call Chinook's and ask them. I do know that they start taking reservations on Aug.1st, but I'm not sure if it's prepay or not.

I would guess that you have to pay when you make your reservation.

Does anybody know if any bars or restraunts do charters to the game? We just have 4 in our group so renting a boat is no go

There is one company that does this. When I get more info, I'll post it.

My friend in Seattle has a company that has 3 boats, 49 people, 150 and one that holds 250. They will run 1-3 boats that day. I'll give more info once she gets back to me.

Please do. Do you know if your friends boats are similar to the chinooks boat?

Don't know.

The Monday following we plan to take this over to Victoria......

We have a tour bus lined up in Canada. A bunch of Tiger Fans, then a little walking around, eating, drinking, etc. Then the flight back to Seattle.

Anyone that is reserved on the Ivars boat planning on cancelling? Reason I ask is because we have 23 reserved spots on the Ivars boat, but as it turns out we need 26 spots...

let me know, thanks
