Please rate each of the following that you know enough about to be rating. Use the standard 1 to 10 scale. Feel free to break it down by category (i.e., food, atmosphere, service, overall value) and add any comments that are worth your time. I am trying to make an informed decision (dozens of family members will soon be coming to town for my wedding and they are all asking about restaurants). I appreciate your help. Meanwhile, I'll also be continuing to search the food board for other past input. Feel free to suggest any I am leaving off the list.

Way too much to do, but I can tell you which ones not to waste your time/money at:

On the Half Shell
Fleur De Lis
Mike Anderson's is good, but I would skip it.

For ones to definitely go to:
Ruffino's
Deguilio Bros
Chimes for atmosphere and relatively inexpensive
Juban's if you're looking to impress.

Rate each of them. I should have said rate rather than rank I guess.

Juban’s Restaurant -- 8
Louisiana Lagniappe -- 9
Mike Anderson’s Seafood -- 5
Ruffino’s -- 8
The Chimes -- 8.5 - If they aren't beer drinkers, probably not your best bet.

Louisiana Lagniappe -- 10/10 my favorite restaurant, excellent food
Ruffino’s -- 9/10 excellent food
Mike Anderson’s Seafood -- 8/10 good food, good price, not exceptional just very good
The Chimes -- 7.5/10 good food, good atmosphere, good price, not much selection, more of a quick eat than a nice restaurant like others on list, but good value
Juban’s Restaurant -- 7.5/10; good food, nice atmosphere, pricey
On The Half Shell -- 6.5; decent food, pricey for what you get
French Market Bistro and Catering Company -- 6; decent food
Boutin’s Restaurant -- 6. Food is okay at best, Atmosphere is good

Not really a restaurant connoisseur, just a simple ranking by a simple person.

And that's all I'm looking for. Simple opinions from everyday people. Thanks for your input.

I would point out that rating service in this town is not an exact science. There is no professional waiter industry in BR, which means that you'll always be waited on by a college kid. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not. If good service is important, take the hour drive to New Orleans.

For a suggestion of a good spot that's not too pricey and has good food is Sammy's.

It's on Highland by Staring. Can get very busy.

That's the truth... unless you go really high end.

I assume all my scores are on a scale for BR and not related to any other city.

Even on the high end its spotty. Sullivans has some of the worst service in the city despite touting itself as high end. While a place like Fluer has the worst service you may find in almost any city and they dont have a college kid to show for it. Some family owned places have good service but not enough workers which is a separate issue. None are on the scale of a receiving a Beard award though.

of course, I'm just saying that you can go to nice Baton Rouge restaurant A and get really good service on Friday, then go on Saturday and get really shitty service.

Well, most of my high-end dining is at Fleming's... and I've never had a bad service experience there.

Maybe I've just been lucky.
