Just Read The 225 Magazine "Best Of BR" Issue ....

... once again .. advertise with 225 and the "numbers" seem to work out for you ... George's -- the best burger and po-boys in BR ?? 
the chimes -- the best gumbo in BR ?? superior grill -- the best mexican food in BR ?? a special "best burritos and tacos" category created that should have fallen under "best mexican" goes to izzo's ?? best sushi and outdoor dining experience in BR goes to tsunami ?? holy shite !! best steaks in BR to ruth's chris ?? wow !
the vast majority of winners are laughable and little to no credibility .. imo ... sorta reminds me of the BR Business Report's top 40 under 40 crap ...

makes me feel really good when my best of BR will drop at the end of the year. 225 is an absolute joke. just a joke

yeah .. this is the only that is at least REMOTELY arguable .. the rest are just a joke ... george's has one of THE driest most below par burgers in BR ... and their poboys are average at best .. oh, and don't forget fleur di lis with its annual overrated, bullshite "best pizza in BR" crap ... i used to kinda like it when i was 22 years and drunk, but to call that the best pizza in BR is a joke and destroys all of your credibility .. i think papa murphy's is better than that crap ..

i really used to like 225 mag and liked the light is shed on BR and the image it built around here ... but this list crap and the winners of this crap just kill their credibility and destroy everything they are trying to accomplish .. it is obvious that the editorial content is built solely around and is constructed around advertising dollars, which makes it no better than town & country mag .. in register, etc ..

NO cuisine vs. BR cuisine is apples to oranges at best ... the difference is much more of an abyss than the english language can describe .. it's funny that some of the best places here in town have NOLA roots ..

Truer words have never been spoken TR. The entire deal is that NO has a true culinary culture spanning over a hundred years. BR does have some good food and I am not such a food snob that I don't appreciate tasty cuisine. But to not have Ruth's as the best steak in BR is pretty fricking comical. Cost is not an issue when judging the BEST!!

now, flip through the last three issues, if you have them, make a list of advertisers, and then check off the winners that are advertisers .. it is a pathetic trend ... no way those numbers are not skewed/manipulated, if valid at all ...

and then, magically, the grape finishes in the top three wine bars in town and there is a two-page review in this issue about the grape ... first of all, define a wine bar, then, look at the other, far better ones in town than the winners ..

no we don't .. we can easily just say george's ISN'T the best hamburger in BR and leave it at that ... our opinion is our opinion .. our taste is our taste, who in the frick has to have "credibility" to establish their own personal taste ?? that's just fricking stupid ... 225 tries to establish itself as the authority on all that is hip and cool in BR and when it becomes obvious that something like this is at the very least clearly advertising driven .. that is where the term "credibility" comes into play ..
