Thanks for your post. FYI: DMB is playing 3 nights at the Gorge, not just the night after the game. Keep on updating your page as i will use it as a great reference.

Thanks, noted. I'll be adding some hotel info tomorrow by popular demand.

Jersey...Chambers Bay worth the $$? Pretty pricey when you add in the caddy and tip. Of course, there are not a whole lot of chances to play an Open course, so I may be answering my own question.

Yes and no. It really depends on what you value. I would argue it's worth it just once to play a US Open course. But when I played there last year, it definitely wasn't in Open condition. The greens were really shaggy and they were doing some other things to let the course "grow in" to its eventual greatness.

Having said that, it really was pretty spectacular and I am playing with some people who are coming up this month and for the game.

I think if you're a good golfer, you will appreciate it, but it will eat you alive if you aren't. Hope this helps.

Jersey, thanks for putting this together! Awesome!

My wife has decided she wants to make this trip for her birthday.

This may be a problem...

I'm happy to shoot mid-90s, so I know it will destroy me...although I won't be playing from the tips, so maybe that will help a little.

But as you said, probably worth it to play an Open venue. And I guess price wise, it's probably better than any public Open course with the exception of Bethpage. And of course, difficulty getting on at Bethpage has been well documented. Places like Pebble, Pinehurst will cost big bucks compared to Chambers.

Thanks for the help.

Looks incredible...really leaning toward doing it. If not that, Newcastle or Druid's Glen are my alternate choices.

Newcastle

To tell you the truth, I only recommended that one for the views. I don't like the course at all (I think it's a very poor public layout in that it's horribly punitive for medium to bad golfers.) and it's vastly overpriced. They do have a cool 18-hole real grass putt putt course with sand bunkers and everything. I would almost say to just go up there and do that, because the views are seriously ridiculous.

It's fine, but not a destination course by any means. No views of any sort.

That's exactly the sort of stuff I need to know. I'll put up with it for Chambers...but for other places, if I'm going to be miserable and hunting for my ball on every shot, I'd rather go somewhere else.

Any others you would recommend? Hidden gems? I keep reading that Seattle is incredible in terms of value for the quality of courses available. Appreciate it man!

Awesome!!!

Thanks Jersey. I'll be reading this more in depth tonight. I can't wait for the 5th of September.

Is there gonna be a big TD.com tailgate party or anything?

There should definitely be something for the fans up there. Even if it's an informal gathering of TD posters.

Anyone have any guesses on how many LSU fans are actually heading to Seattle?

Extremely good work, JT!!

I didn't see anything about Razor Clams. I had them on my last Seattle trip, around the turn of the century, but I can't recall where; some restaurant on the waterfront.

Any recommendations? They are the shiznit!!!

Thanks Jersey Tiger. Where is a good sports bar to hang on game day that is reasonably close to the stadium. We're staying in downtown Seattle but looking for a place near the stadium to hang before the game.
