ok, in this picture:

starting from the top left:

(first section) at bat (second section) ball/strike/out (third section (far right upper)) hit/error

coming down from there starting on the left:

(teams) away above home (middle) inning scores (far right) runs hits errors

that's what's there, you can't argue that. it is what it is...

Beat me to it. Rosenblatt had the pitch count in the lower left corner of the scoreboard, but it double as the K count as well in the later innings. I would prefer that LSU add the pitch count and post the K count on the big board after each K. They actually differentiated bwtween looking and swinging with the backward Ks, which would be cool for the box to adopt, if possible. Having the pitch speed would be cool as well.

All of that said, here's my wish list:

Signs / Scoreboard

1.) Add Pitch count and speed to the Scoreboard
2.) Reverse the Ks on the K count for SO looking
3.) You have a screen to show instant replays, USE IT. They seemed to be a bit slow on showing replays, especially on controversial calls. Don't be so chickenshit. They do it in football.
4.) Remove the ads behind home plate, it's tacky.
5.) Bring over the Intimidator in Right field to balance out the scoreboard.

Concessions / Concourse

1.) Agree with others on adding better food, including additional, outside vendors along the concourse (like in football).
2.) Water Fountains (added)
3.) TVs in concession areas, particularly in RF (if possible, it isn't covered out there). You can see the field from the concourse, so it isn't as big of a deal there, but would be nice to have.

Other

1.) Facade in front of the metal walls on the upper outfield bleachers.
2.) Actual SEATS in the outfield. The bench backs are an improvement, but was it really that difficult to add seats instead. Other, lesser parks have done this.
3.) Permanent batter's eye
4.) Bleachers in right field (not a burm).
5.) Six flag poles to either side of the batter's eye with the SEC West penants in left and the SEC East penants in Right, in order of standings.

Rosenblatt listed the team at bat's batting order then said VS. "Opposing Pitchers Name" and listed balls and strikes and total number of pitches thrown by that pitcher.

Another nice touch was in the paking lot out in front of the stadium. It was a fenced in area that featured a mens and womens restroom, water fountains, and several picnic tables. The whole picnic area was covered by large canvas "sails" that provided shade. There is a grass area between the new Box and the railroad tracks on the southeast side that would be perfect for just such a place.

I apologize if this has alresdy been discussed.

Huh?

The pitch count was on the Alex Box scoreboard all season.
The pitch speed was on the scoreboard after every pitch at Rosenblatt so the NCAA must be violating its own rules at the CWS?

Speed Guns
Use of speed guns by participants is prohibited. The host institution also should not
display any speed gun displays on the scoreboard or video board showing the speed of
each pitch.

Im guessing its ok at the CWS because they are not the home stadium for a school??

They didn't have this in Omaha. Looks like they weren't allowed.

You do realize that rule refers to "NCAA tournament play", don't you? I don't think it is applicable to regular season play. Schools can post pitch speed on the scoreboard for regular season play as long as they do it for both sides. Coach Mainieri told the Coaches Committee he plans on displaying the pitch speed on the scoreboard starting next season....if WE come up with the money to do it. He also said he wants the SEC school flags restored behind the outfield bleachers next season.

FWIW, the pitch speed was shown (after every pitch) on the scoreboard in Hoover at the SEC tournament. Sometimes the gun clocked the catcher's throw back to the pitcher...i.e., 47 MPH, 38 MPH.....

yea, but it wasn't accurate. Every single pitcher was hitting mid-90's

I can't vouch for its accuracy but I don't agree with your statement that all pitchers were clocked at mid-90's. Berticcini's fastest pitch was 82 and Chad Jones' fastest pitch in Hoover was 89. Our group was astounded that Jones was not in the 90's so that's why I remember it so clearly.

It appeared to me you were quoting a rule to show it is prohibited to display the pitch speed. That entire rule book in the link is only for "championship play." I'm not sure what you are saying, or not saying.

This is what you replied to me originally:

Add pitch count & speed to scoreboard; why was this missed?

Then you will bitch when they remove it in NCAA play.. Its against the rules in NCAA tourney play.

I never said it was against the rules outside of tourney play..

Also, put some more tables out there so you can sit and eat after you buy your food and not have to take it back to your seat. There were more tables at the old box. Also the tables they do have are right by the playgrounds so people who actually want to use the tables to sit down and eat usually don't have access because that's where people are sitting to watch their kids on the playground. Build some benches around the playgrounds to accomodate them.
