Here we go with this bullshite. I've played football before, and I do understand the principals of physics. Brandon Jacobs is a bruiser, no matter what you say. He's always played that way. I've watched him from the time he was at Assumption until now.
I'm not bad-mouthing Brandon Jacobs. All I'm saying is that anybody that truly understands the science of the Jacobs-Landry collision should not be surprised by the outcome.

Watching him in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, he made some nice tackles. He has shown promise at times. That pass that he tipped in the UF game was just one of those instances where the ball didn't bounce our way. That set the tone for the rest of the game, in my opinion. That jacked up the crowd and pretty much deflated our defense. Add in the turnovers, we were destined to lose that game.
I just hope the offense doesn't put the defense in bad situations this season.

I guess I misunderstood what you were trying to point out. I was not surprised by the outcome. I apologize for coming off as an arse.
Landry's only shot at stopping Jacobs on that play was to get as low as possible and take his feet out.
I played offensive line, so naturally, I had the size advantage on some guys. I used to love runner counter treys from the guard position, because most teams we faced had those speed rush ends. Nothing better than pulling out and driving those frickers into the ground to open the whole and let the tackle get up field to take on a LB. Although I did love taking on the bigger guys and getting a good angle to take a shot at them.

No problem. I was a 150 lb RB in HS. One game I spent the entire night blocking a LB named Keith Uecker (who played OT at Auburn and 10 years in the NFL. I spent the entire night diving at his ankles hoping he would trip over me.

Haha... that's the way to do it. That dude must have been a monster at LB if he ended up playing OT. I'd imagine he was pretty damn quick, too.
I missed out on playing at West Virginia during R-Rod's years because of a back injury. I know we poke fun at the Big East all the time, but hey, they were competitive at the time, and it would've been a blast. Too bad my playing days were over after HS.

Jones is not 240 and McCray does not excel playing near the line of scrimmage in coverage
when he plays in space, particularly at FS, he is really good

IDK, he looked every bit 240 on that mound 2 weeks ago.

Yeah, but that's compared to 185lb baseball players. FWIW, Perry Riley and Richard Dickson are listed in the 240s. I don't CJ is as big as them. On the spring roster CJ was listed at 214 and football tends to be on the heavy side.

Actually, he was primarily an OT but they stuck him at LB on defense. He also played 1B on the baseball team. Didn't know what he was doing. When holding a runner on first, he'd actually stand between the bag and the runner. Well when he did that to me, you know what I did. Yep. I went for his knees and knocked him on his arse. Unfortunately, the pitcher threw over again and I dove back head first and Uecker reached underneath my arms and popped me in the mouth with the ball in his glove. We agreed to call it even.

Will he evolve into a starting pitcher?

Hard to imagine. He seemed to lose 5 MPH in velocity from one inning to the next in Omaha. That alot for a guy that was only in there for 6 or 7 hitters over 2 innings.

so what is 240 supposed to look like in your opinion LE? the guy is 6'3" and looked thick as can be, I would be curious to know hat his current weight is, you cannot go by those posted listings on the roster, some of them are like when people first arrived in college.
Jones hasn't weigh 214 in 2 years probably.

KABOOOM- huge explosion, afterwards Tebow tries to find his grill on the floor of TS.

I thought he looked around 220-225. Hard to tell on tv though.

I saw Tebow and Jones fight it out before. Jones was clearly the stronger of the two, but Tebow won the fight by dropping on log on his head...
...oh wait, that was the movie Predator. nvm.
