A charcoal snob questions his loyalties...

I have used Royal Oak for as long as I can remember. Tried Kingsford today. It is smaller, hotter, and burns longer. Wow. This changes everything. If it proves to be consistent, I just changed brands...

Naw, natural wood charcoal from whole paycheck is numero uno.

The natural is nice, but it sure goes quickly. This is all academic anyway, few people realize Obama's cap & trade bill outlaws charcoal for cooking, it has already passed the house, Senate next.
Welcome to the Obamanation. If you think I'm wrong, look it up.

I don't like how the natural ashes so much on your food b/c it burns so fast. I mix some in with my kingsford though. I've always been a kingsford man.

And natural charcoal lasts far longer than briquettes because it has no filler, burns longer and hotter with little ash and you can reuse what doesn't get burned.

Kingsford is good for mass produced. Hardwood charcoal is where it's at IMO.

Switch to natural lump, even the Cowboy brand is much better than kingsford & royal oak.
I am not sure if you are running a smoker, but I can definately tell the differnece between briquets and lump if I am running my smoker, not so much on my kettle.

From what I can tell, Cowboy is the same as the Whole Foods brand. Someone posted a link a while back that compared all the major brands and they thought the same. Both look like recycled hardwood flooring-tongue and groove no less.

I use
Stuff is great and much better than Kingsford. Natural lump is the way to go if you have a smoker. It burns much more evenly which is very important. I find it burns longer too.

Propane and charcoal are assumed to be taxed to the point of making it unessary. Recreational propane is actually specifically listed in the bill.
Maybe you can get it to pull the fricking thing is so pathetically large that I cant get it to load on any system without crashing the damn thing.. Now wonder none of the fricking morons that voted for it bothered to read what it contains. 200K words.
Any of you liberals that think this bill wont change the face of this country and everything we do if passed in the present form is dillusional.

Projected costs by 2035=$6800/per person/per year.
On the bright side, the entire Louisiana delegation voted against it. If a few more D's had voted with Charlie Melanchon, it would have died a rightful death.
Guess I will have to start stockpiling charcoal like I did R-12 and R-22. And back to topic, I find Kingsford and Royal Oak have different pros, so I usually use them in my starter, and then dump onto lump.

I thought that was the intention of the bill. Yes, things will change, hopefully. I need to find some Cowboy Lump. is it cheaper than whole foods?

haha....thank you Dr...???? You are a doctor of something I assume. You right wingers are funny. When it supports your politics you'll suck the dick of whomever says it. But when the vast majority of experts in the field contradicts your politics, they are all fricking morons. With that said, I'm not a big fan of cap and trade. But the political reality of a moderate-left congress results in half-way bills. But it is way better than what we have now.
