Texas - LSU personal?

We have been blessed with an NCAA championship between very close neighbors and at least "recruiting rivals." Can't think of a recent BCS title game or hoops championship where this was the case. I'm still hungover though.
With good friends in Southern La. the TigerBait and Steak 4 Brkfst texts have been relentless this a.m.
How personal is it for y'all?

Not personal for me at all.
If you were playing the HOGS, I can GUARANTEE you it would be VERY personal. They don't like (putting it mildly) Texas very much....

Not very personal at all. I don't think the LSU views UT as competition as much as UT views us as competition.
That's no knock to UT, in fact, you guys are a great school and we do recruit against you guys a lot, but we have so many teams in the SEC we hate that it's hard for a big 12 team to get much hate. Also, we really dislike A&M. Those people just suck.

It's a little personal for me, as I'm still angry that ESPN showed a shot during the Supers of 4 Texas players saying "We're the Texas Longhorns, the Number 1 team in the country". WRONG!!! Can't wait for LSU to show them how wrong they were.

I live in Texas so its a little personal for me because of trash talking in the office. But really, we're not rivals. I don't think it means that much to the team that we are playing UT.

Not personal, automatically makes me think of the Texas/LSU Elite 8 round game in the 06 basketball tournament.
This series could turn out to be every bit as competitive and gritty as that basketball game was.

I don't understand, why should it be personal? After all, it's just a game ... LSU fans simply want our team to do what's best for our program : To play a good brand of baseball and fight hard to win. To pitch and hit and field well & to score at will while shutting out our opponent. To defeat and humiliate and possibly injure the other team and, in the process, demoralize their fans to the point of abject despair. To send condolences to their memorials and flowers to their gravesites. To vaporize and expunge them from the history of baseball.
