That said, LSU should not feel they earned this one fully. That triple turned single was fricking huge. Who knows what momentum that stopped / could have started?

All in all, I have to say that LSU has the bats to win the whole thing, but the pitching has to pick it up. So does ours.

Good luck to both the clubs from here on out.

You had lots of innings to recover. Not a valid excuse. Find another.

I agree that there were some calls that went LSU's way but I think that would have been a double bc Shimpf didn't hustle it in once the ump called foul.

No mention of all the lucky aluminum bat bloop hits for you guys. It's all a part of the game.

Or Ranaudo could have struck the next guy out?

The guy hit safely on the next pitch... Turrrbll call... but I don't think it would have mattered too much.

Its baseball. Umps miss calls. We'll give you that run and we still win by 3.

I think the pitching was a product of just both teams are great hitters, combined with Omaha jitters.

we walked a guy and recorded 2 outs. inning ended with runners on 1st and 2nd instead of on the corners.

I'd be more pissed about the inconsistent strike zone throughout the game. dude was awful behind the plate.

outside of renuado struggling, we played a complete game though.

I think Virginia has a great team. Honestly the umpire behind the plate I think hurt both starters. He started out with a very tight strike zone and opened it up around the 5th-6th.

That fly ball was a bad call but I don't know if that was a game changer. Your starter was still struggling and LSU did have big homeruns. I think either way LSU was still getting to your pen early as UVA got to ours early. It came to the bullpen in the end. LSU threw all they had but UVA has a solid squad.

you cant really base the entire game (and a 4 run loss) on the bad call. also, im sure schimpf would have tried after he missed the ball if the ump had called it fair. if you saw him he just stood up against the wall and didnt go for the ball cuz he knew the call was foul. had he tried, that hit may have been a double.

all in all the better team won, but good luck to y'all and great game

Really...UVA had the lead halfway through the game and failed to hold the lead...LSU fully earned this...
