You're repeating what I've already read. I'm not going to change your mind and you're not going to change my mind so you might as well not waste my time.

Raising taxes is an important point to highlight. I could care less about changing your mind.

You live in Baton Rouge. Why do you care what our taxes are? I don't like taxes and I don't know anyone who does other than politicians and those who don't pay them, but this is one tax I would be for right now.

Actually they probably won't have to pass a new tax in the parish. Over the past five years, tax rates have gone down as the police jury has not used the full milage it is allowed to tax. Last year my property taxes went down over $100 with the assessment value staying the same.

Considering that 1400 jobs is almost a job for 1 in every 100 people in the parish it will be worth it.

I am happy for Monroe and the new jobs.
Unlike alot of folks, I am happy for any good news for the state. Screw the regional pissing contest.

The millage increase is minimal, and I'm under the belief that the people of the community must do their part to maintain viability.

I never understood this about LA. I want the whole state to prosper because it usually means a better quality of life for everyone in Louisiana. Is it like this in every state? I wish people in Louisiana had as much pride in their state as Texans do. I hate the way they always brag about being from Tx but it's mostly because I'm jealous.

Non of my comments have anything to do with a regional pissing contest and I do have an interest in the matter. State dollars are going into the package to get the car manufacturing plant here. Who in the heck knows if this "gimmick" is a good investment? I have not seen the good old Godvernment studies to prove this is a good investment.

So what, I don't believe in throwing money at companies to get them here. I believe in fundamentals. I believe those fundamentals are education, low crime and low taxes. Our education system blows and we are gonna have to raise taxes to pay for all this spending.

NOTHING REGIONAL. I wouldn't want this to happen in Baton Rouge.
