I watched one of his youtube videos where he absolutely destroyed a kid when he was playing defense. Looks like a smooth player with good hips. I'd say he projects at safety with the comments he made regarding Coach Cooper. I love the pick up personally. I haven't read one negative comment about his game from UA and AU fans.

Welcome aboard, Mr. Gibson!!!

May you have just as much success, coming out of Alabama, as J Russell did!!!!!!!

looks like Miles wants to get into the trading of 3-star and low 4-star players since Saban has got some of our scraps the last couple of years

QB

this article makes it sound like he is going to be given a chance at QB:

LSU head coach Les Miles and his staff worked Gibson out at quarterback, wide receiver and safety and decided he was too good to pass up. Gibson showed off better speed and a stronger arm than New Orleans Karr quarterback Munchie Legaux, whose performance at the camp was said to be one of the key areas of evaluation as the Tiger coachesdeveloped a strategy for quarterback recruiting in 2010.

With Gibson's commitment, LSU is now free to pursue McKinney, TX quarterback Zach Lee (6-4/200), who is likely to be a high draft pick in next year's Major League Baseball draft, without concern that losing Lee to baseball would create a void at the position. Gibson could be a developmental recruit behind center if LSU doesn't get Lee, and if the highly-rated Texas slinger does end up with the Tigers Gibson could move to running back, wide receiver, safety or even linebacker.

Agree..Safety makes the most sense

kid looks like he has it all...size, speed (although no way he is 4.4), athleticism, toughness and played a myriad of positions and contributed at a high level of high school ball

I can't help but be concerned about why Auburn and especially Saban (the DB guru) aren't on their homestate kid...you know he can't be under the radar coming from Prattville

I see alot of people doubting a couple of the new commits, but the best I remember...ole Les hasn't missed on many of his recruits and the evaluation of their true talent when it comes signing day.

He'll probably play WR and/or S, maybe could grow into a WLB.

He's big, fast, strong, tough, and seems to have decent field vision Plus, he's used to running out of the backfield and doesn't shy from contact.

Anybody think he should get a look at RB too?

Take this back to your $9 board..

“After talking with the coaching staff and looking at their situation at QB, I’m probably going to play wide receiver.” Gibson said.

I'm betting $9 per month would fix that right?

Jerry Rice - the new LSU WR coach - the wait continues..

Film looks good...shades of RS on a few plays. Decent arm and pretty accurate.
