onion, tomato and mayo sandwiches
onion, tomato and cucumber salad

Cook some down with some basil and serve over pasta.

Tomato basil soup

Slice the romas. Toss in some olive oil, finely minced garlic, Italian herbs and S & P. Cook in a slow oven on racks until they dry a bit. Toss with pasta in a cream sauce; top a salad; puree and make a cream soup and use one as a garnish.

Cook down and freeze to add to sauces later on.

Bake or grill slices with a bit of olive oil and seasonings of your choice.

Salad Caprese.

Stuff 'em with shrimp or crabmeat salad.

Cold watermelon and tomato soup.

Watermelon and tomato make a great salad. Google around.

Forgot-put up some homemade ketchup.

Slice the tops, stuff with a hunk of foccacia and some feta, grill indirect until done.

Damn your romas are pretty! All my romas look like they have down syndrome. Did you do anything special to your cucumbers? I have three plants and they are all growing real slow and not really producing much.

Nothing special with the cucumbers, I have one plant from seed and one plant from seedlings, and my seeds are doing much better.

I use manure and soil conditioner to prep in the Spring and fertilize with fish emulsion during the growing season.

I use all organics, vinegar/sweat for weeds, and that organic bromide capt somthing or other insecticide.

What she said. And I left out the ketchup.

Fresh white Bunny Bread, Blue Plate mayo, several kinda thick slices of Cooks ham (that you have baked yourself) lettuce, quite a few slices of your tomatos, lots of kosher salt and cracked black pepper.

Serve with Lay's Classic potato chips and a big arse glass of sweet ice tea. Whole milk may be substituted for the tea but it as well as the glass must be ice cold.

I've only got one or two that are getting close...they are just starting to turn a nice shade of red.
I have brought in a whole mess of crook neck squash. Made a biscuit and squash stuffing for a roasted chicken the other day...very nice.

My eggplant and cucumbers have blooms, but I haven't seen any fruit yet.

The figs and pears are also doing nicely...just a matter of weeks for them to be ready.

Reduce some bals. vin with a little sugar until half the volume...it will make a nice syrup.

Slice up some fresh mozz. cheese and those tomatoes. Sprinkle with finely sliced fresh basil and the syrup...

That salad is really good with a cold glass of white wine. Your choice.

Just substituted day old biscuits for the italian bread crumbs, some sauteed squash, mushrooms and tomatoes. Add a few whole eggs, a little heavy cream and seasoning.

Edit: crumble up the biscuits, they give the stuffing a nice buttery flavor.

Martini,

My grandmother made this dark colored tart homemade ketchup that was so good. I never used it on fries. We always ate it petit pois for some reason. I can almost taste it. I've only made it once and every tomato season, I say I'm going to do it again. I was going to do it last year, but I spent all summer in a leg cast. Maybe I'll do it this summer. This is not like Heinz.
