Yes, an IV can rehydrate you, but its not for a simple hangover. Only time I have seen this done in regards to alcohol is when my friend went to NO for a week and went a week of drinking with no sleep. We took him to the ER after he had been complaining of weakness, and constant vomitting of blood and dry heaving. I also think that it would be a bad idea to start an IV on yourself after youve been drinking. In theory these methods work, but its not practical. As far as dehydration, ice water or lemon lime powerade help. For the nausea marijuana is truly a good hangover cure. I like a heavy greasy meal when I am really feeling terrible just to get something in my stomach. Another word from the wise, DO NOT take tylenol/acetaminophen after you have been drinking. In combination with alcohol, it does serious damage to your liver.

If you are really f-d up, Phenergan suppository.When you're done and the bed starts spinning take it then. You won't throw it up and you'll sleep like a baby and be fine the next AM.

Sauna. Sweat it out and then rehydrate.

My soldiers who were combat lifesavers used to stick themselves (with IVs) and swore by it.
