Is he really worth the hype? I know he plays for the Nationals but I keep hearing he is a beast. Somebody offered me a trade for James Shields for Adam Dunn and I don't know what to think. I have a couple other beastly pitchers who can help me out and I need another big bat cause I have Manny.

Hearing? You've never seen him play? Ever?

Yea, I live right outside DC so all I get is Nationals games. I don't see him being beastly when I watch the games but he has pretty good numbers. I am too busy watching Zimmerman (who is on my team too) get hits and Dunn either walk or strike out.

He's weird.

He has great power numbers, strikes out a lot, walks a ton, and usually has a terrible batting average.

The hype? He averages about 40 HR, 100 runs, 100 RBI's, and 100 walks a year. What "hype"?

He is. I think thats why he is deceptively good.

See, I have Pujols and if I managed to get Dunn, my lineup would be stacked once Manny comes back. Dunn, Pujols, Manny, Ortiz(if he gets better), and Zimmerman would be a tough lineup to face.

He has helped the Nats offense turn into one of the best in the league in the first couple months of the season.

Maybe we the nats would be better off plugging David Eckstein into the 4 hole because he doesn't strike out as much.

He is scrappy.

get rid of Ortiz, he's finished, he's old, had a wrist injury last year that's doomed hitters, no longer has (M)anny behind him in the order, and he's off the PED's.

ETA: Dunn will get lots of homers and RBI's but his average will be kinda low because of his strikeouts
