My boss took me there for breakfast today. She couldn't stop singing it's praises. I got an omelet... it was ok. She got 2 eggs, bacon & grits. The bill was $18 for the two of us. I thought it was overpriced for what it was. We could have gone to waffle house and gotten the same quality of food for half the price.

18 dollars is a little pricey for what you describe

its a little expensive for what it is imo, but i used to go all the time cuz it was in walking distance from my house.

i've got to say, dont judge it on breakfast, go there for lunch, if you work downtown its great.

Go for lunch. Breakfast is good IMO though. Either Tuesday or Wednesday is the best vegetable plate day for me. Thursday is fried chicken. Depending on the day they'll have shrimp creole, stuffed bellpeppers, meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, etc. It's good, especially when you hit it up on the right day.

Are they open on weekends?
I think it is on Saturdays, but not Sundays. A lack of places to eat downtown on Sunday when you are staying down on Saturday night.
Lunch better than breakfast, which is pretty standard fare. Service usually good, although the kitchen can back up when they are jamming. Wait until after the session to check it out.

I don't like the lunches there - I've never tried breakfast.

Nothing wrong with Christina's for breakfast..
I'd take it over wafflehouse anyday.

allot of the ingredients in their food come right out of cans.. it's generic, nothing special..

Maybe the dumbest thing I've ever read on this board.

Too bad it's absolutely true, for the most part.

Heard something a while back about a seafood/cream cheese omelette that was supposed to be slammin'...

Blandest plate lunch I've had in Baton Rouge.
It's also way too expensive.
If you are in the mood for that type of place, try Zeeland St. Market on Perkins.

if you want a plate lunch drive across the bridge to Bergerons where the season the food and it is damn good. not to mention with drink its 8$

Ha, I go to Bergeron's twice a week. If you ever want to pick something up for dinner there, check out the stuffed fish. It's excellent. I bake it for 20-25 minutes at 350, then broil it for 5.
