John Williams Transferring??

Tiger Gumbo is reporting that John Williams may be transferring to Ga Tech. Hate to hear that. I thought he had enough talent to contribute.

Hope he transfers. The kids a great athlete but LSU has so much depth he won't ever play.

He got moved back forth from WR to CB like 3-4 times. I'm sure transferring wouldn't be a bad idea for him.

The sports guy at KLFY in Lafayette said that he's transferring to Northwestern State in Natchitoches. He said that last week. Maybe things have changed.

damn, he is only a Soph... not even going to be an upperclassman this year.. plenty of time to contribute
Maybe he is frustrated he couldn't beat out a guy like Chris Tolliver for that underclassman Slot spot (2nd team)
He's an LSU legacy so I would be a little surprised to see him roll out of Baton Rouge as a Soph

Think Les not making a big deal about Phelon transferring will lead to more players unhappy with playing time seeking out a transfer? That could have negative effects for LSU depth insome areas

You know there are two schools of thought on this-let the kid go, sign all his releases and wish him the best, or fight any transfer attempts tooth and nail, and do your best, as head coach, to make it impossible to transfer. Plenty of Les' peers choose the second route. Hard to say which is best long-term.

even with LSU and Ole Miss transfers, they still get their arse beat.

Doubt it...what the players do see is that Miles treats his kids and 'their' best interests with respect and dignity and that has got to help with recruiting. The kid who leaves doesn't want to be here..period. Why would you want a kid who doesn't want to be here? Why would you harass or penalize someone who simply had a change of heart? Their decision to move on is negated by the fact that their spot in the depth chart is quickly filled by someone just as talented and who wants to be a Tiger. Win-win.

Does that free up another scholarship for somebody else.
If he wants to play without losing a year, NSU or a ULL would be a good fit.
