is that a signal that the show has jumped the shark?

good one. i found that to be a huge coincidence that it would happen on the show when you guys were talking about it earlier this week.

I hate the direction they are taking this show in, but I still love it.

This could be a good one.

Anytime Andy sings it is gold. I love when he sings Pam the Rainbow Connection.
I am still wondering how Michael is going to come back as manager.
I don't see him being rehired unless Charles gets so mad at all the antics he quits and Wallace can't find anyone else.
I would prefer to see sales plummet under Charles and have Wallace beg Michael to come back.

That would be my guess as to what happens. Additionally, Michael might be able to steal some customers in addition to the Scranton branch falling on its arse.

This episode was great...and I don't care what anyone says.

I agree. I loved the Michael vs Dwight and the cheeseballs.

I think it's great how Michael Scott paper company is going to compete with Dunder Mifflin. Eventually people from Dunder Mifflin will get fired b/c of revenue they're losing and Michael will probably hire them. I'm surprised Kelly hasn't done anything with Ryan in the building now.

I do like when they show Michael in super sales mode.
I liked most of the episode but the Jim / Andy was a little too silly. I did like the opening with Andy trying to sell his group for the wedding.

Dwight lifting his shirt and dropping his pants to prove he wasn't wired was golden.
I predict the Scranton branch either folds or gets merged with another branch and Michael absorbs the staff.......except Toby of course.

Great episode.
Dwight was solid. When he did the spin move on the receptionist, I lost my shite. Also funny was his "Hey everybody, we're making observations..." thing with Phyllis.
Michael freaking out with the "It's a setup, Dwight..RUN!!" when Charles came out was great.
Nard Dog playing the music for Jim and Pam was good. His solo was awesome. They should make Andy sing or do something musically every show.
I agree with liking to see Michael in sales mode, because it shows that he is capable of competence and that is how he keeps his job most of the time. And from time to time, he's actually a damn good salesman.
My only real complaint with this show was the super lack of the ancillary characters. They could have done something with them instead of so much Jim/Nard interaction. But all in all, this was another solid episode in a pretty damn solid season. People who say The Office has fallen off are either just looking for something to bitch about, or simply aren't watching the shows.
ETA: I actually liked the cheeseball thing. I'd normally think that was kinda stupid, but it was funny to me for some reason. I think it's starting to show how Michael, Pam, and Ryan are starting to bond, which is what may help make MSPC successful. The morning cheer was pretty funny too.

I seriously bought that barrel of cheeseballs all the time in college at Sams. The exact brand.
I have a picture somewhere holding one of them.
