the ones who love to whine about the Chimes sucking. Don't remember any names or anything, but there are a lot of them.

According to them, what is better in BR along this genre?

I honestly haven't seen a lot of this badmouthing on here, or heard it elsewhere.

it made a strong presence in the most overrated threads, and in ones like these there always a few saying it sucks. we already have one response in this thread insinuating this sentiment.

search for "chimes" on this board and you can probably get a taste.

and no, i am not saying it's one of the best restaurants in the state or anything.

I think the seafood is pretty good and consistent. Great atmosphere.

Someone mentioned it was overpriced? Not compared to similar restaurants. I can't think of anything over 20 dollars, which is pretty good for seafood.

Was thinking the same thing... although the beer can certainly add up.

I wouldn't consider it overrated, unless people really rate it as the best food in BR. It's obviously not that.

They have great appetizers, but many of their meals are typical. Don't get me wrong. I love the atmosphere of the location by LSU and I never have been disappointed with their Red Beans and Rice and their blackened gator. It's more nostalgic I would say.

Is it true they use Blue Runner for their Red Beans and Rice? I've seen that posted on this board.

Chimes is a Baton Rouge institution. The food is solid.
