Was on AMC last night. I know it's germans, but that movie is awesome, even with the good stuff edited out.

yeah I still find it awesome when it's on regular cable. Only a few funny Pacino cuss words go missing really.

Love this movie, Val Kilmer steals this one too over Deniro and Pacino IMO.

It's one of those movies that no matter when it comes on I can't stop myself from watching it.

Loved the movie, I always watch it, but I didn't like the end. I think the Deniro charcter would have lost the Pacino character at the end by the airport runway.

Also, Deniro's character was way too smart to not get out of town when he had the chance.

That's my one big hang up too. I don't see how he doesn't get the drop on Pacino in that last chase, not that I wanted him to. But he was too smart to get caught like that, really.

All movie long he was so smart, but at the end he let a woman render him brain dead. He didn't follow his own set of rules.

the woman didn't render him brain dead, he wanted to get rid of the man who was going to rat him out. Remember he walked away from the girl at the end which was one of his own rules.

My favorite line from Deniro

Van Zant: What are you doing?
Neil McCauley: What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone.
Van Zant: I don't understand.
Neil McCauley: 'Cause there is a dead man on the other end of this frickin' line

So many great quotes in this movie. The movie is in my top 5 of all time movies. The Deniro/Pacino scene at the diner is priceless.

And the end is not messed up. He was getting out for good. It was worth the risk to him to attempt to kill the rat. That was more important to him than the girl. He was a perfectionist and it would have driven him crazy to leave him alive.

I read the FBI uses this movie, and this scene especially, to train agents on bank robberies.

Deniro had the best acting... Pacino overacted. Kilmer was his usual self; one of his better performances though.

No I think Natalie Portman outdoes all of them...also Ted LeVine (Buffalo Bill in SOTL) was Oscar-Worthy in this.

:kige:

DeNiro was great in this and Pacino was fricking terrible. I wanted him to get away and kill Pacino the whole time.

I can buy that because he did just walk away from the girl, but I still think he would have lost Pacino at the airport.

i think a better ending would've been just ending it as he is deciding to leave the girl behind living up to what he said about leaving if the heat is around the corner
