Alright, I know that we are still a few months away, but I'm already getting pumped thinking about August and the new football season. Who are some 5A teams in the metro Baton Rouge area that should have a good team this season? Also who are some players in this area that we should watch out for?

River Parishes in all classes. Curtis and Evangel in the lower classes. I am sure WM will be good from north LA. Anything else is a crap-shoot.

Ruston has dropped down to 4A and will be a contender right away. Didn't Neville drop down to 3A this year? If so, look for them to be dangerous. Not sure what WM will have since they lost their entire backfield.

lsu7171 i'm in college so I'm probley too young . . . but I'm pretty excited about the Yellow Jackets next season. With their great success last season in winning district and going to the playoffs, I really think that they are gonna build on that success. On defense, they should be strong again. They also have two all parish linebackers coming back, which should be huge.

As far as offense goes, the spring should be very interesting. John Simon, an all-state running back and Justin Lathers who was an all parish athlete, will be gone. Also, the Jackets will be looking for a new QB. There is a kid who will be a junior next year who has the potential to be very good at QB. He is a big tall kid around 6'3 who has a huge arm and a great football IQ. He has the potential to be the best true pocket passer that DSHS has had since the 80s.

Also, with a brand new district featuring Zachary and Live Oak, it should be one exciting season; and it can't get here soon enough. GEAUX JACKETS!

Are you actually saying that Denham Springs has a chance. That is laughable. They have no chance. The athletes in the River Parishes will dominate. As usual.

central will be great offensively. St Mikes will be good too.

Redemptorist is loaded but rebuilding on O and PBS will always be good. Should be interesting battles in the 3A and 5A districts

Out here in New Roads we have a good offense returning. Should make a run for district. I feel yall, its time for football to begin

Denham was actually pretty good in football this past year. I think they were undefeated before Central skulled them in district. But I may be wrong.
