True, but Auburn has alot of depth, and I expect Reed to do big things next year. Vandy could be a darkhorse as well.

Take your purple and gold glasses off.

People need to realize the situation and admit it. We just lost 5 seniors. We're getting two guys back that played significant time and then two players that saw limited action, then two more who saw VERY limited action.

Don't insult Darrel Mitchell like that either. Bo Spencer and Darrel Mitchell are not in the same category at all. If Bass and Spencer both started that would be the worst thing Trent could do. Talk about literally no defense from your guards. Garrett Green? Yea, he may start but we know nothing from him except that two years ago he sucked and this past year he's had major back issues. Also, Storm has to make MAJOR strides in order for this team to do anything.

I'm just tired of people thinking we're gonna be good. I'm not being a "negatiger", but the team is extremely young and extremely raw. Brady really didn't leave much in the cupboard in terms of recruits and Trent did an amazing job this year. If we go 8-8 next year I think that will say more about Trent than this year.

Why's that exactly? Because I'm a realist?

So I guess we don't have any one-and-done talent, for whom it doesn't matter how much NCAA experience they have. Thanks Brady.

Actually, you are. What's wrong with people thinking in March that we're going to be good next year? Does the enjoyment other people get from anticipating a pleasing, enjoyable season offend or hurt you in some way? Even if it is completely unreasonable to expect, how can it possibly hurt you for them to enjoy the summer and fall thinking positively?

"Realist"-ically, we don't know how next season will turn out. We don't even know for sure who will be here, and we sure don't know how they will perform. So you might have different expectations for next season, but in order to be a "realist", you would have to concede that nothing is certain. That's the realistic view that would have acknowledged last year that this season could happen. Even though many people were not expecting it.

We don't know what next year will bring. If it is going to be a long, tough season, we will find out soon enough. There is absolutely nothing to profit from fans borrowing trouble before it comes on its own.

Its gonna be tough next year. Hopefully TJ can land a JUCO guy. I'd says Spencer, Dotson, Taz, Storm, and Green will start. If Green is hurt again, Harris will have to start and will leave us with a very shallow bench again. Hopefully Warren will step up next year along with Delwan Graham. Farrer will have to play a lot of minutes too because he'll be our number one sub at the 2 guard spot.

nah man i was kinda kidding with you

but seriously, i've been saying all year long that next year looks like it could be a rough one. but im not going to believe that till it unfolds.

obviously you lose one of the best scorers in the game, one of the best perimeter defenders and one of the best shot blockers and 2 role players and a shitload of experience but im not gonna write them off before the season starts because storm warren is going to develop into a very good player, trent was high as frick on garrett green and there must be a reason for that, no one has even seen dennis harris play at this level yet, and aaron dotson is a talent so its not unreasonable to think they could help this team next year.

its not unrealistic to think freshmen can improve

so while we all recognize next year could be tough, im just not gonna already write them off.

dont you recall what you were saying about boseph before this season started?

I am constantly amazed at what I read on this board, but you have just claimed first prize in the clueless category.

Brady's recent recruiting classes that Trent inherited:

2008

J'mison Morgan (Top 25 player), Storm Warren, Delwan Graham, Dennis Harris

2007

Anthony Randolph ( 14th pick in NBA draft), Marcus Thornton ( SEC Player of the Year), Bo Spencer ( Starting PG on SEC champs), Garret Green, Quinton Thornton

2009 commitments:

Tommy Mason-Griffin ( 4 star guard ) and Brandon Michell ( athletic 2 sport athlete 3 star guard)

Randolph went to the NBA , J'mison Morgan requested a release from his letter of intent, and Griffin and Mitchell decommitted, all occurring AFTER Trent Johnson arrived.

Auborn lol you might wanna think again. AUburn loses everything. AUburn will be back to the bottom of the SEC. The title will be between MSU and UF. Auborn lol lordy lordy.
