Is a criminal record now mandatory to play for the Cowboys?

Also, I really don't think its a bad thing that we didn't take a chance on a dude with this type of record, especially with Sharper likely to sign with us, he can mentor someone else to take the position one day.

I just think U. Young is going to rise to the task. We all know he has the tools but needs the chance. 3 picks in one day in camp and a game winning pick at KC is no fluke. If MM is at 80% with the play of T. Porter at cb and yes J. David in the dime sitting on short routes and Greer doing his thing not to mention Gay in the nickel Young will get a chance to show the whole league his skills. With the short routes well covered and the creative pressure along with the A+ cb play then it will be left up to Young to stay deeper than the deepest and catch the duck passes the pass rush produces. I think the kid is going to be like a young Sammy Knight. He will be a solid wood bringing center fielder. I’m not a TO fan but GET YOUR POPCORN READY!!!

I don't think this is too big of a loss. I haven't read anything that tells me Sensab will be nothing more than an OK safety and decent backup. Could he have come here and been good? Sure. However, the pundits haven't said too much in that matter though.

Plus, I believe that if GW and Payton really thought this guy would be an improvement over what we currently have, they would have pushed harder to get him.

IMNSHO, I believe he would have just been competition and depth on this team.

Let's face it, we're not going to get a top Safety this year; there's just not much out there.

I agree. He'd have been an upgrade, but I kind of didn't want to be locked in to him for 3 years. The Saints are finally getting to a point where there aren't too many glaring holes. If we have to wait a year to get the safety of the future we'll manage.

I'm fine with this; Sharper was the guy I'd rather anyhow, along with a possible 4th round safety ( if by some miracle, the good ones are still on the board ).

Why the Saints Passed on this guy.
Notice he only got a one year deal from the Cowgirls.

Free-agent safety Gerald Sensabaugh, a former Jaguar who has been arrested three times in roughly two years in his hometown of Kingsport, Tennessee, has agreed to terms with the Cowboys, according to Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News.

It’s a one-year deal.

Sensabaugh will provide depth to a depth chart that has lost Roy Williams, and could still lose free-agent Keith Davis.

Last month, Sensabaugh was busted for driving his Bentley on a suspended license. He had three guns in the car at the time (including an AK-47) but apparently was in legal possession of the weapons.

yeah i just saw he signed with the cowboys on rotoworld.

They beat out cap-strapped New Orleans for Sensabaugh, a highly athletic 26 yr old coming off a career best year. Sensabaugh made 4 picks & 70 tackles in 13 starts for Jax.. He was arrested for driving on suspended license and had three guns in the car at the time (including an AK-47).. he risks opening 2009 on suspension.

that stinks.. and i don't want sharper.. too bad the two top safeties in the ncaa aren't in this years draft.. those two guys are head and shoulders above anyone else and are actually worth a first rounder..

usama projects better as a SS.. we need a true FS.. but who knows where that will come from. i think jason david could play a mean FS myself.

why do you say this? SS is more the hybrid LB/S position; whereas, FS is the hybrid FS/CB. FS is meant to cover and rome the field, while the SS is more for run support and underneath coverage. Now i know this is base D, and there are many different uses depending on the scheme.

With that said, U-Young is a CB. So why wouldn't he be a FS?

i am not all that football savy but i just think of usama as better in the run support more than in any type of coverage.. and yes he is a cornerback but he is like last on the depth chart for a reason. he does tackle very well and is tremendous on ST which is why i project him at the SS position as opposed to FS. (that is if he was converted at all)

i like harper as our SS. i think he's solid.

we need a ball hawking free safety in this new greg williams D.. someone quick that has better range and field awareness.. those three reasons alone are why usama is so far behind on the depth chart.. but i guess you are right. he could possibly make a nice transition to fs.. i know he has better speed than what i've seen. his flaw in man to man coverage is that he doesn't have a fluid hip turn.

with all that said. i think he's in the perfect situation to go ahead and try to make the convert. so i have no problem with the saints making a project out of him. like sean payton said it is his 4th season so it could be a significant decision on his future in the nfl.

i don't understand this whole sharper thing. i see so many fans saying "hell no" and the other half saying they would love to have sharpers services..

is there an overall consensus one way or the other?

Sensabaugh is someone you don't want on your team, I'm from Kingsport...
