But he would start on Sun if he was used sparingly on Fri/Sat

but he would also make occasional starts. The only time they were planning on using Coleman as a starter was opening night. We don't really need anyone in the Bradford role unless no one steps up as a viable 3rd weekend starter, but I don't think that will be the case.

Coleman is also supposed to be used this way occasionally

We need Coleman in there. Especially with SEC play starting next weekend. We can't have a freshman starting his first weekend game against an SEC team. No matter how good Matulis looks. He'll be better as a lock down, sure fire win weekday pitcher.

But having Ranaudo on Friday, Coleman on Saturday, and Ross on Sunday would be a rock solid SEC weekend rotation! I think Coleman as a starter utilizes him where we need him the most this season.

when did they say that? serious question, not trying to be an arse. I'm wondering because everything that I heard was that he was going to come out of the pen all year, unless something drastic happened, and that they really didn't want to use anyone like they used Bradford.

Major fail. PM said the plans for Coleman were for him to start one game all season: the opener. He said it at a Coaches Committee meeting and he was quoted as saying it by the press after the first game.

If this is the case, we are back to the original question who gets Bradshaw's spot

yeah, I think defined roles help them build consistency. I wouldn't mind seeing Coleman in the rotation, but they don't need only start him if he hadn't thrown yet in the weekend.

Next weekend wouldn't be a bad one to run Matulis out there. Kentucky is hitting .326 as a team, but their power numbers aren't that great. I had said earlier they could do like they did last year with Verdugo, if he throws well this Tuesday throw him again on Sunday, even though it's kind of short rest.

This talk is due to Bradshaw's poor outing and not an injury, correct?
