There really is not other option. There has to be 1 or 2 more courses added. Our golf in south Louisiana really is complete shite and getting worse tbh….cant get a tee time for a Wednesday morning?? Freaking ridiculous. Every course is booked up.

It’s Louisiana in general. Golf in this state is pricey and lackluster compared to other coastal states.

Yes, and the chairman of BREC has said in writing that they are still considering taking nine more holes of golf away at City Park. That would be 55 holes at four courses in five or six years.

He is a complete freaking retard. But hey, as long as he gets to embezzle his money instead of allocating it towards golf, he doesn’t really care.
It’s really really abysmal. Alabama public golf is equivalent to Louisiana private golf. It’s pathetic.

well go find some land, buy it, and build a course.

Sherwood is probably the best option if someone is looking to build a new course in BR.

I'm surprised states like Colorado, that have multiple courses available, haven't adopted Bama's model. Alabama does an incredible job with promoting golf and accommodating golfers from out of state.
It doesn't surprise me at all that Louisiana sucks in comparison.

It will be the reason i finally leave the city after decades. This area is just bad for golf and people with power to do things are actively working to make it worse.

List of courses that have failed in BR last 25 years:
Briarwood
Shenandoah
Fairwood
Sherwood
The Bluffs
LSU
Golf and the woke culcha taking over a city do not mix.
Good luck finding investors willing to take on that type of investment in a business that is tough to be profitable.
People are fleeing BR and the region. The Bluffs MIGHT have a chance, but I would not put a new course in EBR, WBR, Ascension, or Livingston and expect it to be successful when the expectation to get play will be green fees/cart under $60.

Jim Moore is doing a $40M renovation to FRCC. They’ve picked up almost 100 new members from the BR area. I think it’s a viable plan using an existing tract. Starting from scratch would be a challenge.
