This team is so bad it would take Jay Johnson pushing every right button for them to win, and he is not even coming close to doing that.

Let me say, He is in no way in danger of losing his job, but my God this has been as horrible a coaching job to this point in the season as I’ve seen in my 45+ years of following this program. From roster construction to fundamentals to development to execution, and everything in between. I have never seen an LSU baseball team be so bad in so many areas.

When you win two championships in 3 years you’re allowed a little grace but this drop off can do major damage to a program’s momentum and reputation. Another year like this one next year and all bets are off.

It’s ok to call it unacceptable. I bet Jay would agree with you.

Bordering on what? this is an inexcusable result with the talent we have.

Agreed. It’s to the point somebody is getting fired on JJs staff after this season.

I think Yeskie gets fired and should.

The Powerhouse of College Baseball can't do the fundamentals the last week of April

The Powerhouse of College Baseball is about to get swept 3 weekends in a row

I do like how we have people keep saying this is a "down year" though. 2024 was a down year. Idk what the frick this is

He would. Big changes are coming. Look at how he manages a game and how quickly he pulls pitchers. It will translate in the offseason. No one wants to win more than him. Even more than you or I.

What kills me is we can be firing on all cylinders and the other dugout knows to just give it time and we will shoot ourselves in the foot one way or another!

Bordering on unacceptable if you include the fact he’s won 2 of the last 3 championships. And I’m mostly referring to the coaching staff in general. I don’t think any reasonable fan would have been too upset with Jay if we couldn’t make it 3 out of the last 4. But we’re looking at potentially a sub .500 team a week and a half from now. That kind of drop off was unimaginable with the players we had returning and the players we added. The play has absolutely been unacceptable.

The redemption tour he is going to take next year is going to be amazing.

?? truly awful coaching performance all year. CJJ burned up 2 free passes this year. I expect he won’t need another one.

The idea losing his job comes up is unacceptable. Be pissed I am, be embarrassed sure. But no one is getting fired.

Exactly. Loudest mouth breathers that state the obvious in here coincidentally have accounts a year old

Another year like this and Verge will step in. His hiring of Kiffin and Wade shows that he don't play. I think that's part of why Johnson looks unnerved at times.

What?

LSU lost both weekend starters, their top pen arm and 4 starters on the infield. Them the injuries started to pile up.

Seriously, what the frick are you even talking about? The lack of returning production was the exact reason expectations should have been tempered.

Just stop. Verge fricking Ausberry isn’t going to fire a 2 time champion.

God damn you’re dumb.
