And a LOT of Ks. I’m sorry, I know this might not be a good time. I miss him too.

Huh, so how many "generational talents" does that make now in the last 5 years for Coach JJ? Kade must of been a transfer right?

Hope he stays at AA for 3 more weeks as the Travelers are coming to my town on the 12th and hope to see him pitch!

I think the criticism is that he has needed 1st round pitchers to win, not that he needs elite transfers.

And it shouldn’t be a criticism. Yeah we’ve needed 1st round pitchers to win, because we’ve had to beat first round pitchers.

How can that be a slight?

At its core, the argument oscillates between these positions (whichever is more convenient)

1. Jay can only win championships with stud pitching. (duh)
2. LSU recruits itself and therefore if a coach doesn't win it all then somebody else will.
3. LSU doesn't put enough money into the baseball program.
4. As good as LSU is currently it will never surpass what Skip accomplished with less resources.
5. The players now aren't as good as back in the 90s with Skip.

So, essentially these idiots are arguing that less successful coaches from other schools who are more financially affluent could win more games at LSU. I'm not going to stress myself out trying to explain the obvious logical leaps between these positions because you either get it or you don't.

If anything this speaks more highly of Jay because he is able to get better players here with less resources than other schools. And when our roster is at its best, he wins it all. Here's a question for the mouth breathers...If Paul Skenes went to Florida do they win it all? Moo St? Texas A$M? And if so, why is that?

It's been LSU vs the field for 35 years.

If you really wanted to start getting in the feels, go look at Eyansons stats too. They are just as good or better so far. It’s depressing knowing what LSU had last year compared to now. If only Anderson wasn’t a draft eligible sophomore

While I agree that Kade is on a fast track to the majors and the Mariners like him as a prospect;

No major league team is calling up a Double A pitcher who has 4 appearances and 18 2/3 innings pitched.

Nor are they calling up a double A pitcher who has 4 appearances, 18 2/3 innings pitched as a professional and is not on the 40 man roster.

I would expect the Mariners to want to see Kade pitch against several different Double A teams more than once, before they even entertain the notion of promoting him to Triple A.

So far, Kade has not pitched more than 5 innings in a game (4,5,5,4.2). Over the next several weeks I would expect to see him extended past 5 innings in some games (but limited to a pitch count).

If he continues to have success, a near mid season promotion to Triple A may be in the works.

Or maybe, just hear me out, Jay was able to recruit first round talent...like... you know ...most successful coaches do.

Not sure the last coach to win it all with a bad team. What an idiotic argument.

Yeah, Eyanson is at 0.54 ERA through 4 starts with 27k’s and 0 walks. Seems like we have discovered why it is what it is this year. Hard to replace two guys like that seamlessly in one year.
