Well that’s not exactly accurate. I know I saw Yorke pop up in the 9th.

It's weird seeing players with good batting averages get worse every year, when it should be the opposite.
Milam : .326, .295, .278
Braswell : .311, .189
Larson : hit .298 his freshman year, then just kind of vanished and only got 52 plate appearances with a .256 BA. Now he's hitting .328 at Texas
Reaves : .262, .200
Stanfield : .298, .244
Something is off if players who are supposed to be the backbone of the team get worse at the plate every year.

People on this site keep blaming the portal busts. Go tell me how many pitchers we returned that have a better ERA this year than they did previously. I’ll give you a hint.. About 70% of them have a worse ERA than they had before this year

Some of these guys were not expected to be contributors this year are now being pushed into the lineup.
That is 100% due to the portal misses.

Scoring runs affect pitching. Making errors or failing to make plays affect pitching. Defense and lack of run production inflates pitch counts and era. This is non-debatable.

You really are doing some mental gymnastics to not place any blame on the pitching staff. Their era is so high because they walk or hit or throw a WP to every other batter. That’s independent of everything. Throw the ball towards the plate. But with our guys we have to pray they actually catch it too. Pitch/catch go together. Defense behind the pitcher is a different story. But if there were errors their era wouldn’t be a 6. EARNED run average means there was no defensive miscue. It’s a pitching stat to determine their effectiveness. And not a single one of them has been effective this year.

What about all the plays where there is no error given, but its an error? Or where only one out is recorded on a double play ball?

Folks, it’s all mental despair at this point. It started with the disappointing portal class, yes, but mentally they are beat down and there’s no strong leaders in the dugout that would have kept them pumped up though it.

I always find it humorous that people can determine if we have leaders or not in the locker room when we arent in there. Are we to believe jake brown, stanfield, curiel, milam, guidry, etc were good leaders last year, but bad leaders this year? Does that make sense?

Baw just give it some time… We will be fine once SEC play starts…
We’re going to be running more pre snap motion to get some good looks for some 3z to try to hit goals… Hopefully a hat trick…
