What does the Spear or Arrow stand for?

Can we just be honest and not subtle?

Black Helmet is new, for the home and away it looks like they got rid of the awful matte finish on the helmet. Also looks like a slight tint change from maroon back to closer to what they wore in the 90's.

ETA: Also the triple stripe from their 'superbowl era' throwback looks to be a permanent addition away from the single stripe they had been using on the helmets. Also shoulder stripe was shrunk down to a sleeve stripe. Basically they took their 'throwback alternates' and made that the new normal.

So they went back to looking like the Redskins.

There's even a spear on the black helmet as a symbol of....a commander?

As a side note, why don't other teams take the hint. People like clean, classic uniforms. You're eventually going to end up there anyway. Just do it now.

I like them, especially the spear logo but if you look at the spear logo it’s virtually impossible for the spear to travel through the “W” that way. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

If you read their marketing materials, they did it on purpose to "connect the past to the present" (apparently in the middle of a 'W').

But I guess it could also be wormholes...

This is the intentional slow crawl back to their proper name. Unless it's been misreported the new owner has been considering going back to the Redskins. I'm sure the league is giving him friction about that.

At least the Redskins spear gives their uninspiring logo character.

“Washington Football Club” was a better name than “Commanders”

Ah good call. Yeah, the classic shiny helmets are much much better.
