MTV's THE CHALLENGE 42

Filming just ended. 7 to 8 weeks filming. Started Feb 19th
Cutthroat 2
Location : Thailand
Format - 3 teams of 8 (Grey, Orange, Blue). 24 total cast members
June possible release date on Paramount + Streaming. Looks like MTV is over and The Challenge IP is moving to a new home
28 years ago MTV's The challenge premiered on MTV and has been the longest running reality tv show in the world. MTV never kept up with the times and their parent company Paramount + is giving it the new life it deserves with people cutting cable. They are going back to its roots and are grounding the show. Fewer cast members and fewer episodes which I think we all agree is a great thing going forward.

Would love an elimination where Nurys and Izzy sit on each other’s faces…holy shite this season is bringing some heat.
Two other points/questions:
1) will the elimination arena be The Gulag
2) how will they commemorate the Bananas backpack? I’m assuming there will be a Back Up Off Me elimination

I would think more people were watching on MTV than Paramount+. I've enjoyed this show since the beginning but I'm not getting Paramount+ just for this. Guess they're gonna lose another viewer.

This isn't final it's just what TJ and others have been hinting. I'm with you and If It were up to me I would air it on MTV and do like survivor and big brother and have it streaming 4 hours later on Paramount +. The problem is it doesn't stream for 5 months after it airs on MTV.
The study shows people 18-49 year olds 90% stream and only 16 to 49% of that age range have cable anymore. They def don't want to lose OG fans like you. Places like amazon and apple sell the season live for $19 and the episodes are available a couple hours after they air on MTV. That comes out to $1 an episode.

I was never super into black chicks, but Izzy and Nurys are two of the best looking chicks ever on the show.

now that it might be going on streaming we could possibly see this R rated action. Both are so hot. I would even throw my girl Evelyn in there seeing she's a lesbian or even Tay from last season. Always had a weird thing for Evelyn

It's been a decade since I watched cutthroat. I need to go back and see the format of this season. Obviously remember the backpack but don't remember much. Bananas would have won that season I think without the mercenaries coming in.

They held a race to determine three captains who then picked teams. Winning team each week got cash while the two losing teams had to send a guy and a girl into the gulag elimination. Fairly simple change to their old team format. Wonder if they’ll keep it simple and stick with that formula or do something ridiculously complex like they have grow accustomed to doing

I hope they stop the changing teams every other week. Takes out the fun aspect of getting to go thru the whole game with the same partner. They don't need all these twists like survivor and big brother keeps doing.
I think this cast is really great. Wish we had some more OG's but no Aneesa is always a win in my book.
Just saw a picture of CT today. He's in the best shape of his life. His face isn't fat anymore and you can see his jawline. It's about damn time.

I'm not sure what happened to all the OG challenge fans. These threads use to get 50 pages back in the day. I checked and a lot of the posters just don't post anymore and I'm not sure what happened to the rest of them. These threads use to be so much fun. No matter how bad it would get I don't think I would stop watching this show. It's been a part of my life for almost 30 years when I started as a kid.

Really lost a lot of appeal for me once they started adding all these people who were never on The Real World or Road Rules. I don't give a shite about Shipwreck Island UK or Survivor or some random social media "influencer."
I think the last season I watched from start to finish was when Bananas took all the money from Sarah.

Yeah I can't blame you for that. I wish they would go back to real world road rules. It sucks that a lot of those people are banned or just moved on with families or real jobs. We still have a bunch that come back though.
