Tennessee just took the series from State. Outside of South Carolina and Missouri, you can basically win or lose any series. I wouldn’t count LSU out just yet.

LSU definitely needs to turn some things around, but they can still easily make a regional. Hosting is a tall order now, though, and seems very unlikely.

I don’t think we’re in the upper end of the parity.

Barring an insane turnaround that I don’t see happening, this is probably going to go down as the 2020 of baseball.

That's 5 straight conference loses for the bullies.

Guys we were 3-15 in sec play at one point in 2023. 3-15!!!! We were a two seed in a regional. If we lose tomorrow we are 3 games back of that. It’s doable

That team had a much better RPI than this one does. We are probably looking at 12-18 in SEC play. Not gonna cut it.

Our number will be 14 to make the postseason. It’s honestly looking pretty daunting as of now. Next game is huge for that. Lose tomorrow and we need to go 8-7 while playing at State and at Georgia. Def doable but they’ll have to improve significantly in like a week time span which I don’t see happening. They are who they are.

That was 2024 when they started conference play 3 and 12. In 2023 in conference play they had 19 wins and 10 losses out of 30 games with one game that was canceled.

As bad as this team is, I think the 2020 team was going to be worse. Thankfully Covid saved that team from a complete embarrassment.

Yep with our shitty rpi we need 14 this time around I agree. I believe we were 13 & 17 in 2024 but had a better rpi than what we’ll end up with this season. We also won a couple games in Hoover I believe.

3-12 and 2024

And not that unexpected for a rebuilding team that had to open @State, and then 4 consecutive series against teams that finished ranked in the Top 8. Things evened out with the easier second half

We were a 2 seed only because it was an absurd year and that shitty 13-17 record was good enough for 7th best in the SEC. We also ended up ~#15 in RPI because of that first half gauntlet, and only dropping 1 midweek game

We’re currently 14th in the conference, 13-14th in conference RPI, and we’re about to start the much tougher half of our SEC schedule

13-17 is not going to be good enough this year with how bad our RPI will be. It’s possible to finish 7-9 to get there, but that’s going to look like 2-1 vs USC and 5-8 vs everyone else (all of whom will be Top 20s in RPI). But we cannot physically jump from the 70s to the bubble going 5-8 against the good teams. We have to win at least 2 of those series and get to 14+

Seems easier to not delude ourselves

Bethune Cookman is pushing our shite in. Not too worried about postseason.

If you didn’t count this team out about a month ago you have purple and gold glasses on. Way too much to fix and now losing recruits.

Mediocrity seems to be prevalent in the conference this year in all sports.
