Much as Johnny Cash did with "Hurt," Robert Plant turns Led Zeppelin's "Ramble On" from a young man's song to an old man's—the road calling a boy to leave a love affair, remade into a gray-hair's knowledge that he must soon leave life.

As much as I hate acoustic slow stuff, I have to respect Robert for doing this type of version of their songs instead of trying do the original version & failing miserably like some other acts out there who are just collecting a paycheck & embarrassing themselves. He knows he can’t go out & sing the 70’s version of these songs every night. He is a class act.

I saw his show in Raleigh a couple of weeks ago. It was very, very good. Ramble On and In the Mood were highlights for me.

I very much agree with this. He's a guy who understands where he is in his career and is perfectly comfortable with it. And while his voice isn't as strong as it used to be its still pretty good.
Here's a video I posted in another thread about his current band, I really like this version of The Rain Song

I saw him in Dallas a couple of weeks ago and that band he has behind him is amazing. He did Ramble On and it was great.

New Orleans a couple weeks ago. I can’t describe how good it was. “Ramble On” was a religious experience.
The band was amazing.
