East:
The Pistons, Celtics, Knicks and Cavaliers have secured the Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 seeds, respectively. Who each will face in the first round of the playoffs is still up for grabs.
The Hawks have captured one of the two remaining guaranteed playoff seeds in the East. They will finish either fifth or sixth. The conference’s final guaranteed playoff seed will go to the Raptors, Magic or Sixers; only Toronto can finish as high as fifth.
West:
The Thunder and Spurs have captured the Nos. 1 and 2 seeds, respectively.
The Rockets and Wolves are also respectively locked into the Nos. 5 and 6 seeds.
The Nuggets and Lakers will decide the Nos. 3 and 4 seeds on Sunday. Should Denver beat San Antonio or L.A. lose to Utah, the Nuggets will be the No. 3 seed. However, if the Lakers win and the Nuggets lose, L.A. will take over the No. 3 seed.

Feels perfectly setup for OKC to go back to back
They’ll beat the shite out of the poor 8 seed, whoever it is
Even at full strength the Lakers are a terrible matchup against OKC and would get beat in 5 games, but with hampered Luka/Reaves then it’ll probably be that mess of a Houston squad who advances
Spurs and Nuggets get to kill each other in round 2
I don’t think the best of the east can hang with them
Dark days for the association.

I think the Thunder need someone to take out the Spurs before the WCF.

I can’t get my head around a team with no playoff experience doing it on their first try. There’s no precedent for it that I can recall.
Then again there’s no precedent for Wembanyama existing so maybe we are on the verge of seeing something special

It's so funny that the play-in games are all on Prime Video. It will be the first time people care about watching since Christmas Day and they decide to make it hard for people to watch.
No wonder the NBA has fallen behind baseball.

If the spurs beat the nuggets and the lakers beat the jazz then the nuggets will play the thunder in the second round and the spurs will play the lakers (or t wolves)

I like Detroit. Hope they get revenge on the Knicks, who finally don’t have to worry about getting whacked by indy

Most of the opening week of playoff games will be on NBC and ABC.

Definitely pulling for it lol. I do think the playoff setting and the squad getting healthy and geared up helps vs the disaster of a regular season series that was. But it would be swell for Denver to take out San Antonio in seven quadruple overtime games

Scenario 1: The Nuggets want to play the Rockets in the first round - and they tank for the 4th seed
Scenario 2: The Nuggets want to avoid the Thunder in the semis - and they play for the 3rd seed
Scenario 3: The Spurs want to beat Denver to drop them to the down to the 4th seed
Scenario 4: The Lakers want to play the Rockets in the first round - and they tank for the 4th seed
Scenario 5: The Lakers want to avoid OKC in the semis - and they play for the 3 seed.

Jokic has to play Sunday to hit 65 games and qualify for awards and bonuses. Denver will try to win. Also think SAS will try to beat Den which would mean SAS inly face either team not both.
But most teams/coaches are not as much into the positioning as fans are. Whoever you give them to play they’ll do their best to win. Its GMs and Owners who might work with doctor to find ailments.
I expect SAS/Den to be a playoff preview type game.
As for OKC, they only played SAS one time at full strength and won by 21. The losses were missing key players. Lots of folks are looking at game records vs reality of who played. It would be a great series though.
SAS is -1.5 vs Denver right now.

I just want to add that what Lebron has done since Luka and Reaves went down is unbelievable
The haters are so pathetic

Atlanta has beaten both of them and the Cavs in the last couple of weeks.
This Hawks team, since they traded Young, is legitimately good.

Warriors can make a run with Steph

NBA season finally starts next week.
Hawks ain’t beating anyone worth a crap. Too little playmaking and playoff CJ ain’t worth much.
1 of the 3 OKC/SAS/DEN combo is going to skate by only getting to play 1 of the other two. It’ll be interesting to see who gets the privilege.
Out East, I’d be stunned if anyone could mess with Boston. Maybe Detroit can grind them down idk. Kinda crazy that Boston is looked at as the hands down favorite when they started the season as a fringe playoff team at best. What a well run organization.
