We will be breaking in a lot of new faces and schemes with some consistency on D. Not much time to hone the Offense before then. Lane will know how to exploit the weaknesses of OM defense but will Pete do the same to Lane's offense? OM returns two pretty good weapons at QB and RB but they are losing the major part of their offensive coaching staff (how far in the playoffs would they have gotten without Charlie Weis, Jr and others we allowed to coach? I am thinking tossup due to length of time we will have to prepare(game played later in the year then we cruise).

Will be interesting! Thoughts and thanks!!

I think losing Dottery and Prince was a huge blow to OM

Will be an emotional game and most likey close despite me thinking LSU is the superior team. I trust Lane to win this one

Advantages only matter if the players (offense, defense, and ST) execute and do their job. I think Ole Miss opens as a 1.5 pt favorite, same as last year.

I don't gamble and don't care about the advantages or pt. spread. Only thing that matters is LSU coming home with the W

LSU opened as a 1.5 pt favorite on December 1, 2025.

Just for context - before the portal additions obviously. I think LSU is a narrow road favorite assuming they cover vs Clemson. (Currently a -11.5 in favor of LSU)

You won’t ever convince those delusional chodes in Oxford of this. If you ask them they’ll say they are thankful LSU took them

Meanwhile the Locked On Ole Miss country bumpkin is talking about how right tackle is a position of weakness and Carius Curne has been underwhelming.

He will have to face Princewill Umanmielen in week 3. Curne will get manhandled and it’ll be our guy we took from them having his way with the scraps they collected from us. Poetry.

Ole Miss obviously, but I’m sure it will be a great game.

Kiffin is going to put his best effort on the season in this game. I have a feeling he's really pissed and wants to make an example out of this game. Everyone paints him the villain but contrary to what media will report, Ole Miss did not handle this well at all which made him look much worse than it needed to be.

What's most ironic in the media is nobody was ripping on the other coaches for leaving. One of which completely ravaged his old school's roster in the transfer portal. What did Kiffin do? Get a few guys from Ole Miss.

The only voice in national media that actually was the most levelheaded response on it was the most unlikely in Stephen A. He was 100% right.

Nobody is going to sit there and say LSU is not a major step up for almost any HC with the opportunity. Nor does anyone have a right to tell this man what's best for him and his family.

Ole Miss used the national media to try to trap Kiffin at that job when he obviously coveted LSU much more. Scorned ex-psychotic gf vibes with how they treated him especially fan base. He's going to make them an example and you don't want a genius offensive mind like Kiffin mad. It won't be for lack of gameplan if LSU loses that game.

This game to me feels like a poor man's version of LSU @ Alabama in 2007. Miles had the superior team and HAD to win that game or he would have been chastised. In this case, I think Ole Miss has a little better team but we have the coaching advantage. UM/Golding HAS to win this game or he will be looked at as flat out inferior to Kiffin. I think this is the biggest home game in Oxford since LSU played there in 2003.

Nah, 2003 was literally for the divisional championship. At that point UM had gone 40 years since winning the SEC. Now, it’s been 63 years and counting.

It’s going to be LSU.

The difference is that Pete also has to handle the head coaching responsibilities and a new offensive staff. He still had the continuity of Kiffin’s offense during the CFP.

The Ole Miss team will have all of the weight of Oxford on their back to win that game. Kiffin has gone into hostile environments before and dealt with it.
