Golf Course Architecture

quote:

All bunkers have been lined with Better Billy Bunker and filled with Premier Play sand from Arkansas. The entire course will be sodded, and all the short grass areas, fairways and tees will feature Stadium Zoysia from Bladerunner Farms. Green surfaces will be TifEagle and rough will be TifTuf bermudagrass.

Sounds great! I remember fondly Santa Maria after the greens were reworked. It was nice! Firm tho.

Imagine putting some effort like this into City Park.

I’m very excited about this course. It looks like they’re doing some really good work out there.

I love Zoysia! The ball sits up like it’s on a tee.

I was told by someone that know Jim that his intention is to make it comparable to the U Club in quality and play.

I'll be curious as to what it will cost to play?

I believe it will be open to the public during the week and for limited tee times on the weekends.

It’s pretty impressive. The transformation is fun to watch.

We were told play will be for members only till May 2027.

There isa mountain of fluffy white sand waiting for transport there

The ground looks really fertile dark grey soil. Should make for nice grass growing

Drove out there yesterday, just from the looks of it, this is gonna be a championship course, the old clubhouse is still there, I’m sure some changes have been made over time. Pickle ball facility is open. My guess is 2027 is target date for opening. Gonna be a fine golf course

Old clubhouse will be razed and replaced with a $4M new club house. September is the current reopening date being told to us so we’ll have to settle for temporary accommodations when the course reopens.
Weather could always delay the reopening, but they’re currently way ahead of schedule because we’ve had good weather.
I’m skeptical that the course will be fully grown in by September. May take another year for it to look like the artists renditions, but it should be fine as frog hair by ‘27.
