No, they were not an imminent threat to the US. Please spare me the bullshite about how they’ve been killing Americans for 47 years. I don’t like Iran as much as the next guy, but there was absolutely no need to start this war.

Now, Trump has put himself in a difficult situation of whether or not to follow through on his threats. Totally manufactured by him. What are we doing here? What happened to America First?

I’ve defended Trump through a lot, but I think Iran is his fatal mistake. Venezuela and Operation Midnight Hammer made him overconfident with military ops.

0.) Decapitate leadership
1.) Suppression of air defenses
2.) Take out key military assets
3.) Seize strategic points. < We are here.

Meh.... while I understand you have your own opinion about things, it's unreasonable to pass judgment on a situation that is still playing out.

Well Trump does what he thinks is right. What’s right is not always politically helpful and that is the problem with America today.

Dave Smith made a great point - 5 weeks ago the Strait was open and we hadn't spent $60 billion or lost any Americans.

We havent accomplished anything - its important to remember where we started versus where we stand now.

Jeff Sessions as AG followed by Bill Barr.

This is after that.

It’s not fatal yet, but if he refuses to acknowledge that he must negotiate an exit or just walk away because the attempt at regime change via assassination failed will cost him his ability to pursue the rest of his agenda for the last two years of his term.

You can have your agenda or you can have a full prolonged war in Iran, as a lame duck president you can’t have both.

1. decapitate leadership only to be replaced by virtually the same leadership

2. the plan didn’t account for Iran’s ability to shut down the Strait. we would be out of there by now if the oil was flowing.

I'm critical of our decision to get involved and I even agree with this

You are exactly right. You know our military did not prepare for that contingency at all. They though it was a rumor it was Iran's only leverage, so they laughed at it.
