It’s a complete disaster now. I used to enjoy having it on in the background during spring/summer Sunday evenings. Now I need to stream it through an app, what a shame. It’s the MLB’s ultimate goal to make baseball inaccessible.

Manfred is doing a speed run to the title of WOAT sports commissioner.

Defending Manfred isn’t really popular, but I think a lot of really good, popular changes have happened on his watch (pitch clock most important)

It will take a lot to top the most overrated commissioner of all time, David Stern, whose legacy is moving successful large market teams to tiny AAA markets. Memphis, OKC, Sacramento, while one of the most successfully supported franchises in NBA history, the SuperSonics, were taken away due to his vengeful spite. He rode Magic, Bird, and Jordan’s coattails, and is now roasting in hell for his sins.

It will take Manfred a lot to ever match the shityness of Stern. Such as moving the St. Louis Cardinals to Omaha because he is a small dicked, spiteful shithead like Stern.

BTW, blame sports killer Disney for ruining Sunday night baseball. And college football…

It's ridiculous. I just go without. Not paying for any of the extra streaming services, for any reason.

I do digital antenna/Roku with free Tubi/Pluto/PBS/YouTube

During college football/basketball season I paid for the ESPN app ($30/month) for the UK games. Yes, I know how to get them free online, but paying that allows my dad to watch the Cats at his house also with my login. Least I can do for him.

Baseball season (now) paid the flat fee for MLB.TV/Reds.TV combo package for full season ($199)

That's enough. I don't need to have every single sports event anymore. Sports have saturated society and jumped the shark. Starting to become kind of a turnoff TBH.

As long as I can view the Cats/Reds/Bengals I'm content at this point. Trying to find better shite to do with my time these days.

We had a group back in college who would meet up at Hooters for Sunday Night Baseball back when they had legit specials for sporting events like 25 cent wings during Top 25 college basketball games, etc.

SNB died for me when ESPN blew up the Jon Miller & Joe Morgan pairing I had basically gotten accustomed to them for most of my youth on Sunday Nights.

I couldn't even begin to tell you where it's broadcast, who is on it and I can't remember the last time I watched it because it's been a long long time.

I don't like it either. But MLB always whores itself out to the highest bidder. All they care about are the checks clearing. I guess ESPN Radio is our best option now.

I’m not saying this is a great or a bad take but it’s definitely the first I have heard of someone saying that sports in general has jumped the shark. Interesting take and kind of bizarre.

I think while the NBA is going on the games are on the NBC Sports Network channel if you get that.

St Louis beat Detroit 5-3 in a pretty good game.

WOAT sports commissioner.
Gary Bettman held this crown for decades until Manfred came along, now that dude looks like a genius compared to Manfred. Dude got the NHL back on ESPN after the work stoppage and held the league together through some big upheavals with NBC Sports Network and now the regional sports networks collapsing.

For the life of me I cannot understand why commissioners are okay with putting their product behind 6 different paywalls. At most they should have two for fans - one for the every day games like what the RSN's used to be, and one primetime. Nobody is going to subscribe to both Apple and Peacock just for one game a week along with Netflix for their "special game" as well as their every day network.

SiriusXM streams every game on their top tier package. I pay $7/month for it in the semi and can listen to pretty much anything I want - only thing they haven't carried in the last decade that I know of was Olympic hockey which was kind of weird because they have NHL Radio and NBC Sports radio.

Correct. I think regular season NBA will be done by next week and MLB will be back on.

Braves and Indians game will be on NBC next Sunday Night, then it returns to Peacock/NBCSN until May 31 when it comes back to NBC until September 7th. The last few will go back to only Peacock/NBCSN because of SNF.
