I live in one of the most conservative states in the nation (FL).
We have “hate speech” laws that effectively only prevent anti Israeli speech and our governor who I generally think is the best American governor of my lifetime went to Israel to sign it.
I have no issue with Israel and believe they have a right to exist… however there is no reasonable explanation for why a tiny nation so far away with no world relevance would be able to legally eliminate criticism of their actions in a conservative state in the most powerful nation in the world that doesn’t involve them capturing our mechanisms of power.
In other words there is no soft secession that will save us from whatever is happening right now because the leadership of the right has been captured comprehensively from the party to the politicians.
Unless the American Christian right finds their objectivity, self respect and lets their balls drop we are stuck until the government comes for their 401ks which is probably the breakpoint for the nation.
