West Monroe pitcher Cupit had 13 strikeouts and got the win vs Neville tonight. His curve was untouchable tonight.

95mph from the left side in high school is the ultimate cheat code. Idk how anyone makes contact.

Seems he turned 19 after September 1st, the date needed to be eligible for the LHSAA.

I’m sure it’s fun mowing down 15 year olds. Konnor Griffin is going to make his mlb debut tomorrow as a 19yr old lol

Honest question, would you prefer WM stop sending kids to LSU. EVERY SINGLE POST about WM you seem to go search their age. I don't see you do the same for any other school. I mean, if they're not wanted in Baton Rouge I'm sure they could find other schools more than willing to support them.

It's just a weird phenomenon to me to run down your own recruits. I've never seen it from any other fanbase.

JJ every year I search the age of every one of LSU's recruits, and the players on the team, and comment on many of them when it provides context. You are taking it personal because you, and everyone else knows the pattern with West Monroe kids.

It's not me running him down, just a little ribbing. Being older does not make him a great player; he is a LHP who can throw 95. He is objectively a great talent that I am sure all LSU fans are excited about. But being older than everyone else and throwing 95 is indeed a cheat code.

Its all within the rules. AND its not like other high school use the same rule?

If you don't like it, get it changed. Easy peasy.

Me saying that he is old does not mean i care about the rule lol. I give zero shits about the rule. Amateur athletes (hs/college into their pro spot) who are in the older range of their player pool has always been noteworthy, for better and for worse.

Then why make the post at all? You say you don’t care about the rule and aren’t trying to disparage the kid or his talent but your post is exactly that. You’re like the Will Ferrel bit where he says “with all due respect” then says the most disrespectful thing he can think of lol.

It’s a message board. Like any other information sharing platform, it’s meant for commentary. You Monroe people are sensitive when it comes to your 19yr old “kids”

Why so touchy? No one said any rules were being broken or the kid isn’t good at baseball. 2 things can be true at the same time.

1. He is a great talent and LSU is thrilled to have him.

2. He has an advantage playing against kids getting their drivers licenses and he could be starting his 2nd year serving in the US Armed Forces.

Meh there was definitely implication in his post and yours that being 19 carries some kind of negative context. I’m a firm believer in holding over/starting late especially for most boys and it is firmly within the rule and always has been. No senior plays against only seniors so the point y’all are trying to make is invalid. Every senior has an advantage as they are playing against freshman, sophomores, and juniors. Being 18 or 19 doesn’t change that. If you don’t want to hold your kids over or don’t like it when other people doing lthat’s fine but they aren’t doing anything wrong or questionable and it doesn’t even deserve mentioning when they do.

You need to work on your reading comprehension if you think I spoke negatively about being 19 in high school or even said it was questionable. No one even mentioned it was breaking any rules, you did. Also it’s a discussion board, you don’t get to control what others discuss or mention.

It’s obviously an issue you are passionate about. To pretend that being a year or 2 older in young males couldn’t provide a competitive advantage is laughable.

Nope, just a major advantage. Older players naturally should be above the rest of the competition. But when you are a high D1 caliber player too, even moreso
